A must have for anyone seeking a professional medical career..., November 1, 2005
This review is from: Medical School Admission Requirements, United States and Canada, 2006-2007 (Paperback)
Unlike any 'Pre-Med' textbook, this is indeed the 'Bible' of those seeking a medical education.
This isn't a how-to-get-in book, but is just the facts. Who applied, how many (residents and non), how many interviews were there, what was the average MCAT compared to National Averages, what are the costs, what are all of a particular college's entry requirements, what specialties do they offer, how can I pay for it, what are the MCAT scores by ethnicity, what are the MCAT scores by gender, what is the average enrollment of each specialty once med school is completed, etc....
ALL of these questions and more are answered for EVERY Medical college in the U.S. and Canada!!!
The most complete and informative textbook on the market, for those wanting to enter a professional medical school...(I can't beleive its only around 25 dollars... they could've easily asked twice as much!
This is a must have, and compliments many of the 'how to get in' books here on amazon.
This, coupled with study guides such as Kaplans, will benefit most "pre-meds".
Enjoy.

The medical school profiles as compared to last year: Amazing, August 23, 2005
This review is from: Medical School Admission Requirements, United States and Canada, 2006-2007 (Paperback)
The medical school profiles were amazing this year. They gave pictoral representations of the average scores of each medical school's recently admitted class, and compared it to the national MCAT average. In addition, it gave the percentage of admitted students with science majors, (I was surprised to see that, at Harvard, only 47% of the admitted students had science majors. I thought they would be in the majority.) and other helpful stats. This is the best book to learn about the curriculum that each med school adheres to. Of course, it is the official book, so there are no rankings. US news is good for that sort of thing.

This is the med school bible!!, July 19, 2005
This review is from: Medical School Admission Requirements, United States and Canada, 2006-2007 (Paperback)
I have looked at a few different books that give you information about different medical schools. These books combined did not equal the knowledge that I gain from this one book alone. With a detailed break down of tution and fees, relevant experience percentages, and acceptance and matriculation for each school makes this book exceptional. The book also gives great tips on undergradate programs and other important factors that plaque the minds of the pre medical student. This is book has invaluable to me in my struggle to get into med school and will greatly aid anyone interested in getting in.
