If you are worried that a Spanish-speaking patient will talk too fast and say too much for you to understand, your worries are over. Medical Spanish by Bongiovanni is designed to elicit yes-no answers or short answers. Other chapters teach simple commands for conducting exams, instructing therapy or providing discharge information. It's a gift from heaven. You will develop confidence as you learn Spanish.

This small book packs a big punch. There is a wealth of medical spanish terminology well-organized into small related sections that are easy to digest. I carry this book with me and refer to it all day everyday. The ONLY reason why I did not give 5 stars is because there is not an accompanying audio CD. I really like this book. It provides good basic medical terminology in Spanish and English and makes it very easy to follow and understand. After browsing through my copy of this book several of my collegues stated they are going to purchase this book. This book has certainly helped me with being able to speak to my Spanish speaking patients. I have pruchased several different Spanish dictionaries and translation books, but none compare or come close to this one.
