If you are worried that a Spanish-speaking patient will talk too fast and say too much for you to understand, your worries are over. Medical Spanish by Bongiovanni is designed to elicit yes-no answers or short answers. Other chapters teach simple commands for conducting exams, instructing therapy or providing discharge information. It's a gift from heaven. You will develop confidence as you learn Spanish.

This small book packs a big punch. There is a wealth of medical spanish terminology well-organized into small related sections that are easy to digest. I carry this book with me and refer to it all day everyday. The ONLY reason why I did not give 5 stars is because there is not an accompanying audio CD. If they ever make one, I will be the first to buy it. Gail L. Bongiovanni did an excellent job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like this book. It provides good basic medical terminology in Spanish and English and makes it very easy to follow and understand. After browsing through my copy of this book several of my collegues stated they are going to purchase this book. This book has certainly helped me with being able to speak to my Spanish speaking patients. I have pruchased several different Spanish dictionaries and translation books, but none compare or come close to this one.

This is a great book to help with spanish speaking patients if you know a little spanish already. It is divided by specialty, but there is no section for surgery. Otherwise this is a great book!

As a family nurse practitioner student, this book is very useful to learn medical terminology. The questions are short answers and I especially like the patient education materials, birth control methods, how to breast feed, prescription instructions and there's lots more. It instructs you on how to obtain an informed consent and HIPPA. I love that I can carry it around in my labcoat!

Aside from the fact that greetings and other common expressions often change quickly, and may therefore be out-of-date, I found this book to be well-organized situationally, and very easy to use. I checked the information given on several points and the book's accuracy was confirmed.

I haven't yet used this too much, because my spanish is already fairly decent, but it's a super easy book (it appears) to use. It's divided by topics, and has english on one side and spanish on the other. Seems quite comprehensive, and appropriately precise. I was confident enough, even without using it much, to give it 5 stars already.

MEDICAL SPANISH, IS VERY GOOD AS A BACK UP TOOL FOR MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND.
