This is one of my favorite statistical references and I always have it close at hand. Many times I am just looking for a brief and concise overview of a statistical topic that I don't know that well and I use this text as one of my starting points, or I may use it as a quick refresher. It's often a good starting point and a nice bridge to statistical texts, or software statistical manuals, that provide more detail. I would recommend this text to anyone interested in statistics in healthcare / pharma.

This is an excellent book. I have taken multiple statistics courses but not in many years, so my skills slipped. The format is such that you can rapidly, likely even if you never took a statistics course, develop a good working knowledge. It is concise, using few works yet is comprehensive. I highly recommend it.

This is a decent review of medical stats and is geared towards those who want a general understanding of what tests to use in what situations. If that's what you want than this is a decent one to check out. If you are looking for mathematical proofs and complete explainations or statistical theories than this is the wrong book to get since it has none of that. Sometimes it is a little too concise and gets confusing (I knew very little about medical stats when I first got this and had to use other sources on a few subjects). There are good examples in each chapter (which are usually about 2 pages each) that help explain the concepts as well.

This is a great book for physicians and health care providers, who constantly deal with the medical literature and conduct research. I am a physician and this book was recommended to me by my teacher in a statistics course and I found it very helpful. On the other hand, Amazon delivery was slow and it took forever to recieve the book.

Medical statistics disappointment,
This review is from: Medical Statistics at a Glance, Second Edition (At a Glance) (Paperback)
I purchased this book simply based on its title. However, the title is very misleading. I am a RT(R)(M)(ARRT), going back to school. I have been doing research on the disparities of healthcare and its accessibility. I expected this book to contain actual medical statistics and various case studies, however, nothing regarding healthcare or medicine is even mentioned in the book. I believe this book was written with the purpose to explain the purpose and how to read statistical jargon regardless of purpose or field of study. I was disappointed and will return this STAT!
