I got the fluid and electrolytes book first. To this day I have no problems understanding the topic. I now have the whole set. There is a list of defined terms beginning each chapter, a pre-test and post-test, and the subject is outlined in between. Any book of this series is highly recommended to the nursing student.

Great Resource,

I bought this book because my teacher assigned too much reading (100s of pages) from the textbooks and I just couldnt read that much. This book is concise yet gets the information you need for your nursing school tests and the NCLEX across. The questions are great though I wish there were more and I like that the questions have explanations with them. I used this for my last test and after having gotten bad grades on the two previous tests this raised my percentage on the next test by almost 15%. By combining this book with my notes and the outline the teacher gave us it really helped me. I will definitely buy more of their books in the future if the need arises.

I used this book a good bit along with my textbook. I liked using it when I just wanted the most important points without sifting through all the extras in the text that the instructor was never going to ask about.

This book is organized, clear and concise. If Med-Surg nursing is confusing to you, this will help set it straight.

This reference book goes great with your medical-surgical textbook. It combines all the information of a certain subject that might be 10-15 pages in your text, to 4 or 5 pages. This book gives practice questions and a CD-ROM with additional questions. I recieved a B out on my med-surg class and I studied and did pratice questions from this book 90% of the time. This book truely goes hand and hand with your med-surg textbook.

I purchased this book prior to taking my first Med surg course. This book gives you the important information without all the extra wording. This book carried me through my course, especially reviewing for exams. Prior to reading any other chapters, I would recommend that chapter 17 should be reviewed first (common problems encountered in emergency and critical care nursing) as there is a lot of info in this chapter that will help you in preparing for cardiac and respiratory systems, info that is not mentioned in these two chapters. This book is a must have, you will not regret it!

I got this book as an adjunct to my Saunders NCLEX and the workbooks and clinical guides for my texts during my last semester of nursing school. The rationales for the answers are vague and hard to follow, particularly with more difficult content. It doesn't include multiple patient scenarios, and the questions include a fairly clear "correct" answer. If you want to be a good clinician AND pass your NCLEX/school exams, this won't help. Get a good prioritization and delegation book instead, along with the Saunders and a Kaplan book.

I bought this book to help me and my study group prepare for our 1st semester of med-surg (NPII). There are lots and lots of good questions that really challenge you. Excellant way to work on critical thinking skills. Although this is not the lastest version, it is EXTREMELY helpful and I would highly recommend it!
