Decent book on Medicine Ball Training, February 26, 2009
This review is from: 'Medicine Ball For All' Training Handbook (Paperback)
I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and this book was one of the texts for a CEC course (continuing ed). I have been working with medicine balls for a while and was really looking forward to reading it.
While it was a decent book with some good general info on working with med balls, overall it left me disappointed. It had some interesting exercises but overall was quite limited in scope or creativity.
It was also poorly produced with amateurish photographs that were very grainy.
In addition, they only had one photograph per exercise rather than starting and ending movements shown which I thought was a huge oversight.
While I got some decent information from the book, the next CEC course I did with the book "Strength Ball Training" (Twist/Goldenberg) was far superior in every way and also included a DVD for the more difficult exercises (see my review on amazon).
So, in my opinion, I would read this book if I could borrow it from a library but purchase "Strength Ball Training" instead, it's a much better investment!
