4.0 out of 5 stars Useful aid, August 13, 2007

I found this book to be useful to me as an intern doing the hospital admissions. However, it does not cover all different conditions that we are admitting for. Also, some suggestions for tests and treatments don't agree with my hospital's standard of care.

4.0 out of 5 stars Imbalanced approach., March 9, 2011

This review is from: Family Medicine, 2008 (Current Clinical Strategies Medical Book) (Paperback)
Excellent straight to the point management, but way too disproportionate. The medicine section is inappropriately short and empty, virtually no explanations. It only outlined protocol for some diseases, then in the pediatric section repeats the exact same thing but with pediatric dosages this time. the Ob/Gyn section took 50% of the entire book leaving only 25% of the book devoting to medicine and primary care. I like it as a quick reference but definitely not adequate enough for a family medicine residency reference. It is important to know that pediatrics and Ob/Gyn constitute only 30% of Family medicine residency, and 60-70% Internal medicine. This book should put more emphasis to the proportion of each fields.
