About the Author

Darrell Bain is the author of more than fifty books, ranging in genres from humor to adventure and thrillers to science fiction. These days he concentrates on science fiction and suspense/thrillers with SF elements Darrell served thirteen years in the military as a medic and his two years in Vietnam formed the basis for his first published novel, Medics Wild. Darrell has been writing off and on all his life but really got serious about it only after the advent of computers. He purchased his first one in 1989 and has been writing furiously ever since. While Darrell was working as a lab manager at a hospital in Texas, he met his wife Betty. He trapped her under a mistletoe sprig and they were married a year later. Darrell and Betty owned and operated a Christmas tree farm in East Texas for many years. It became the subject and backdrop for some of his humorous stories and books.

It was a very good book it brought back some memories of the times that i was there and of the places also. Although I didn't have the fun that the character and his brothers had. I did spend a week with my Uncle when he came through on his way home. I left a two weeks later for home. I thought that it was good for someone to take their experience's and make them into a very funny and interesting book. I liked it very much.

If you served in Viet Nam you'll recognize the places, people and probably most of the events in this novel. It brings back memories in a way that lets us ease through with a big dose of laughter. Bain puts a lot of himself into his writing, and obviously he was there. A special treat for vets but recommended for anybody who likes good writing, strong images and a wild ride.
