Product Description

Product Description

Speed equates to distance. Good golf is Power Golf and the PowerMeter, used as a companion with the Maximus Hittable Weighted Driver, will allow you to measure your progress. This unit may also be used on all clubs in your bag. Unlike other speed measuring devices, this unit is easily transportable and can be removed and just thrown into your golf bag. Other devices require one to carry extra items, they sit on the ground, and one must make sure nothing impedes or blocks the measuring device but with the Medicus PowerMeter, the ease of use is like no other speed measuring equipment in the market.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Training Tool, March 28, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Medicus Power Meter (Sports)
First everyone always wonders if this thing is accurate, that was a concern of my also before my purchase. Well the answer is yes it is accurate. I have had it on my 7 iron and driver while at the same time monitored by a launch monitor hitting balls on the range. Tried that set up at two locations, the instructors or fitters were curious if it was accurate just like me, so they hooked me up on the launch monitor. With the 7 wood in both cases my speed with the Power Meter was on the low side about 2 mph, with the Driver it was higher by 1 mph. For less than $50 I don't know of a anything that comes close in this price range for the home user. When I use it with my irons I'm trying to find that constant swing tempo and swing speed that works best with all my irons. When I use it with my Driver I'm working on getting my swing speed faster. One thing that sinks in very quickly is just swinging faster or harder doesn't always equate to more swing speed. So in that regard you know your mechanics and timing is off so you work on that along with the faster swing and measure the results. I have been able to increase my swing speed by 15 mph using this product to help me get my timing and tempo in line with with a faster swing. At 61, and recent shoulder surgery, my mph isn't going to impress you but 15 mph more equates as a big plus to me. I have a net in the backyard but you can't tell distance or direction as you can on the range. But with the Medicus Power Meter I can get a indication on distance, better or worse, on each swing with the net.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buyer be cautious, March 6, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Buyers should be cautious about buying this product. The documentation is horrible, and the clips that hold the Powermeter around your golf shaft look like they will break with time -- we'll see. The Powermeter appears to work by measureing the centrifical force generated at the club grip. So you can get higher speeds depending on where the Powermeter is placed. However, the swing speed appears close to the figures I have seen in a golf shops, and the Powermeter is an inexpensive tool that can be used to measure swing speed over time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Swing Meter Short Review, May 21, 2010

It works, pretty easy to use. I've seen other reviews out there that say it was hard to use or something or another, but the thing only has two buttons on it, if you've ever screwed around with your cell phone, you can figure it out.

Anyway, it appears to be pretty accurate, you just have to change the settings on the club that you want to use it on, not that big of a deal. I like to use it more for trying to maintain consistency than trying to gorilla beat on my chest ( even though I've spanked a few at 125 MPH+ ;)

2.0 out of 5 stars Medicus Power Meter
This was a waste of money. The instructions were poorly written. The device itself kept switching numbers so that I could not set it properly. I do not recommend it.
