5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it's supposed to very well
The picture shown is exactly what you get. It hooks to the scabbard of your sword the exact way shown in the picture. It can be adjusted some to sit higher or lower on the scabbard depending on how you want it to rest against your back. Durable construction in excellent condition and works perfectly. Definitely needed if you're not looking to hold your sword all...

3.0 out of 5 stars Wasn't what I expected, there is NO sword.
The photo is misleading. I thought a toy sword was included in the purchase but the only thing that came was a belt. Although, I didn't want just a belt it was in excellent condition and appears to be a good product.

THE PRODUCT DOES NOT INCLUDED A SWORD!

If you are a harried Mom, like me, you ordered this without reading carefully that the sword pictured here is not included. My 11 yr. old son found this on Amazon and wanted it for a Halloween costume of Link. I ordered it, and when it arrived, we were both disappointed to find only the belt. It's a high quality belt. It claims to be leather and it certainly looks like it is, very thick and sturdy. It is supposed to go over the shoulder like a sash and hold the sword. Even though it is adjustable, it is still too big on my slim, medium-height son. I hope this helps other harried parents out there.

I then tried to buy the sword that goes with this belt and Amazon doesn't sell it at this time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money~, March 5, 2010

The strap is really nice, and very sturdy. The slits for the sword and for the excess belt strap are adjustable by buttons, which are a bit hard to push back together, but it's worth the trouble so your sword doesn't fall out. I tried it out with one of my other cosplay swords; it fit very tightly (this sword was a Mugen Shirasaya, so it had no guard), and it didn't fall out once. Will be using for my Link cosplay for a convention around here. Highly recommended for any Link cosplayer!

So today my strap came in, someone said that it is not real leather? Well I have a rebuttal for you;

I HATE LEATHER! And avoid wearing it at all costs. I can scope out Leather quite well. However if I need to wear it for a ren faire costume or any other costume, I will. THIS IS REAL LEATHER! I know the feel, the smell, the sound. And this checks out in all categories for being real leather. However I can see how this may be mistaken for faux leather. It is highly glossy, giving it a fake feel, but that smell is unmistakable.

If you are a Zelda Fan, and like to carry your Master Sword places (Or if you have a Kokiri, Ordon, Great Fairies Sword or any other sword from the franchise... This is the real deal. It is the same type of strap that Link carried through Twilight Princess. I consider myself a long time Zelda Fan.

The ONLY complaint I have about this thing is how uncomfortable it is. HOWEVER! It is not that the strap itself is uncomfortable. It is because the sword itself is 40lbs. The strap, as a strap should be, is light weight, a whole 4-6 lbs, adding as LITTLE weight as possible to the bearer.

Bottom line is, Yes this is a high quality strap, durable enough to carry a sword of 40 lbs. If you are buying it for Cosplay, you might want to find a way to pad the shoulder, middle of the back and your hips because those are going to be problem areas.

Sword belt was a birthday present for my son and he has played with it every day since he received it. It has held up to his daily use. It is made well and its a great value for the price. Thank you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Close but not quite, November 2, 2011

I bought this belt specifically to go with the Legend of Zelda sword as is presented in the item picture. It didn't clasp onto the sword properly, the bottom snaps were either way too tight on the first set of snaps, or way too loose on the second set of snaps. In the end I didn't end use this belt, I made my own custom fit belt.

In the sellers defense, I didn't contact anyone to try to fix this issue - for $14 I didn't think it was worth the hassle.

Other than the lack of fitting to the sword, it seems to be well made.

Does what it's supposed to do. I've had a Master Sword for a little over a year now. I got one that isn't real leather, so I guess it really depends on who you buy it from to where it is real or fake. It isn't a belt you put around your waste, you put it on your shoulder. It has a very tight grip on the sheathe, but that's a good thing. I leave the belt on all the time now. Since I do, I'm able to just have it hang on the wall with a single nail. Before, I had the sheathe alone lying on three nails on the wall, which isn't very nice since the slightest wrong move would knock it down.

But anyway, it will work with most swords, it is just advertised for Master Sword owners like myself. I wear it around the house a lot now, it's fun. Like I said before, some sellers make it out of leather, and others it's fake. Either way, it still works the same leather or not. I also got free 2-day shipping from Amazon Prime. I am very happy with this addition to my Zelda collection.
