Ordered two for costuming purposes--as I have read elsewhere, the packaging was not that well done. One sword was finished as in picture, with "silver" blade, "bronze" cross piece and pommel, black handle (that one arrived in excellent shape). The other was "silver" all over and the tip was partially torn--nothing I can't fix with a little hot glue, but if you want to use this for LARPing, I'm not sure it will work due to the weak protection around the sword's point which could make using this for unarmored play combat potentially dangerous.

I bought this on eBay for $25, because me and my friends are all into the Lord of the Rings. We actually used this sword in our Drama Club Production of 'The Fellowship of the Ring', and it withstood Boromir's last battle. This is an awesome sword. It has a good weight, and is very firm. It has, for me, a hand-and-a-half grip, with the effect of an engraved hilt and pummle. The handle is painted black, and the hilt and pummle are dark grey. The blade itself is 28 inches long, and is as firm as grip. Some of the paint on the hilt has peeled off, after several practices of two battles from the Fellowship. The entire sword is made from a firm foam/polymer, and my friends have remarked that it's more of a weapon than a LARP sword. I love it, and would definitely recommend it to any LOTR fan, or Larper.

this sword is soft on the outside, and firm on the inside. This is perfect for children aged perhaps 5-12 to use for sword battles with little fear of serious injury (except eyes). It looks nice and wears well. Excellent halloween costume supplement as its not too heavy. That said, it is clearly made of a white coloured substance as repeated stabbing motions at the bushes and ground has cause the colouring not he tip to wear off to reveal eggshell white colouring. Sword remains fully functional after 3 months of child use and is a good investment for the price.

I had previously bought some similar (yellow coloured) products at Target that proved to be of a lower quality than this one. In short, this product from Amazon is a superior product and slightly less expensive!

As a Cosplayer who does a Zombie Templar Knight, this sword is perfect for cons and such. Passes the security with flying colors and looks very realistic. Great size and value.
