4.0 out of 5 stars Solid but unbalanced hammer - nice display item, September 26, 2005
This review is from: Medieval War Hammer Armor Piercing Weapon (Misc.)
This is a strongly put together item. It would be devastating in knightly battle, if the wielder could score a blow. The steel is thick and heavy - consequently the hammer is unbalanced. I believe that actual medieval weapons of this type had smaller heads. The pins that attach the metal parts to the hardwood shaft might loosen or break, given vigorous use. I would also prefer a top spike.
The small "made in China" etched onto the steel covering the upper shaft somehow detracts from the overall effect.
The price, appearance and solidity, however, are excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Freakin LOVE this thing!, December 23, 2008
This review is from: Medieval War Hammer Armor Piercing Weapon (Misc.)
I LOVE this warhammer! I tok it straight out of the box and went onto my driveway where we have about 3 inch thick sheets of ice and started whackin away. This hammer destroyed the ice in a matter of seconds and EVEN DENTED MY PAVEMENT! and the best part of it all, NO MARKS!! This hammer looks beautiful, feels very sturdy, and I can't wait to test it out against some real metal!

This review is from: Medieval War Hammer Armor Piercing Weapon (Misc.)
the others who have reviewd this item are right on. the hammer is beutifuly crafted and would make a great decooration. unfortunatly thats not why i bought it. i am a little bit more... active with the hammer. i actualy practice with it. the pins are coming loose and if one was to actualy try to use it to pierce armor the head would surly break off
