5.0 out of 5 stars Major Addition to any collection!!!
This tarot deck is one of the finest in print! It was one of the first packs I began learning from in 1986. It is replete with all the occult trapping and mysterious images one could look for. There is one difference from other tarots of a similar nature-it has this brilliant sense of humor! The tarot is like an oil lamp. It can either light your way, or burn down...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Great Deck If You Can Stay Focused
I find the Medieval Scrapini tarot deck by Luigi Scrapini to be a confusing when reading the spreads. The cards are lusciously colored in gold, copper, and many other metallic colors. There are natural colors like blues and reds, but many of the backgrounds are compiled of the metallic ones. For me, this makes it difficult to read the images in a tarot spread. Will this...

5.0 out of 5 stars Major Addition to any collection!!!, June 12, 2005
This review is from: The Medieval Scapini Tarot Deck (Paperback)
This tarot deck is one of the finest in print! It was one of the first packs I began learning from in 1986. It is replete with all the occult trapping and mysterious images one could look for. There is one difference from other tarots of a similar nature-it has this brilliant sense of humor! The tarot is like an oil lamp. It can either light your way, or burn down your house. This particular pack offers the protection of laughter in a reading, which I find so relevant.
The details here are too numerous to mention. One can almost sense the mist rising from the Moon card, or feel the warmth in the Strength card. The Minors are so highly detailed that I am still noticing various flora and fauna. The backs are always important as welll. These are of a gilt goldtone that dont wear away after years of use.
If you are looking to branch out with your mystical dabblings and wish to give your reading new flash, look no further! This is my most recommended pack for beginners and intermediaries alike. Very little nudity, so this would be fine for clients of all ages!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best!, December 25, 2006

This review is from: The Medieval Scapini Tarot Deck (Paperback)
This is the most accurate deck that I have ever read from. It is almost always accurate even about things people don't want to believe. This was my first deck and every one I have used since has given less detail. The cards are slightly larger than some of the more recent decks and I really like that. It really sets the tone, as if my hands recognize that these are different. The artwork is really unusual, they look painted, with gold backs. These cards still look beautiful after years of use. Still my favorite after trying many different decks!

Will this happen to everyone? No. if someone was to be drawn to those colors more often this deck would be perfect for them.

For me, the colors just create confusion. What happens in my mind is that the background and the foreground blend together, and I can't read the card with three dimensions, which is how I personally read tarot cards. What I recommend to do is to Google this deck online and look at the images of the cards. If the colors don't seem to distract you, look further into buying the cards. However, if you're like me, and the colors seem to be too much to look at at one time, I would recommend looking at another deck.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good service good deck, December 8, 2011
This review is from: The Medieval Scapini Tarot Deck (Paperback)
I am used to reading the Rider Waite Deck so this deck is a challenge for me. I don't connect with the pictures yet and some cards don't have words of what they are. The pictures are nice, but I like other decks more. Maybe I'll like the deck more once I keep working with it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hard Too See the Detail, September 7, 2010
This review is from: The Medieval Scapini Tarot Deck (Paperback)
I'm just a beginner at the tarot and still looking for the "right" deck for me. This isn't it. My chief complaint about this deck is that I can't make out the detail. And there's a great deal of detail in these pictures!

I'm in my early forties and only occasionally wear reading glasses, so while my eyes aren't perfect, I'm not blind as a bat without the glasses either. Even with the reading glasses I can't find or make out many of the details the LWB tells me I should be able to see here. ("Is that blob supposed to be the mermaid?" "Where's the bat?" "Is that the volcano or the burning buildings?") The gold/gilt colored backgrounds don't help. These cards have a luxuriant opulent appeal to them to them on first glance, but that is part of what makes them hard to see. I find myself holding the cards in the light, turning them in all sorts of angles to make out details that I just can't find. The deck is about as wide as a pack of playing cards but taller, so I don't think the problem is the size of the cards. If they were much larger they would be really hard to shuffle.

If someone is going to use this deck it might be helpful to invest in a powerful magnifying glass.

I do have to say that I like the LWB. Even without the card descriptions, it easily has 3-4 times as much about meanings and reversals as the other LWBs I have. Maybe not as much a real book, but a great deal more than the other LWBs I have seen. I plan to refer to it with other decks and see if it is helpful with them.
