5.0 out of 5 stars scanning?.... please...
so... i actually don't own this book yet... but i will be buying it soon for sure. though i thought it necessary to review it more positively... because if one were searching for medeival woodcuts as i had, and came across'd this book, they might overlook it immediately after seeing a 1 out of 5 star ranking. when browsing amazon you don't immediately see if its 1 bad...

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice work, poor production
I usually expect better from a Dover Clipart book. While the pics are crisp and well done It is nearly impossible to scan the city views as they cover two pages. You would need to carefully take the book apart and scan each page, then photoshop them back together again for a whole print.

All in all I expect Dover will come out with a CD of this and charge us...

This review is from: Medieval Woodcut Illustrations: City Views and Decorations from the Nuremberg Chronicle (Dover Pictorial Archive) (Paperback)
so... i actually don't own this book yet... but i will be buying it soon for sure. though i thought it necessary to review it more positively... because if one were searching for medeival woodcuts as i had, and came across'd this book, they might overlook it immediately after seeing a 1 out of 5 star ranking. when browsing amazon you don't immediately see if its 1 bad review or 100 that warrant the star rating... upon further inspection i saw this review said the images look great, this lady was just angry that she couldnt scan the images easily since dover decided to show spreads.. but honestly, how else is one supposed to look at super long horizontal landscapes unless the book was ridiculously large. and even if that were the case, it costs a lot more on press to go that wide, so the basic idea of cheap images that dover always supplies would be negated.... its a piss poor reason to review a book negatively and i had to counter-act it. so for anyone who is reading this... i don't own the book yet, it might stink, it might be great... chances are, it is what all dover books are... good artwork printed well on cheap matte paper... nothing more... nothing less... i just couldn't let this one lady leave such an indelible mark.

5.0 out of 5 stars I second T. Huff's motion., September 20, 2009
This review is from: Medieval Woodcut Illustrations: City Views and Decorations from the Nuremberg Chronicle (Dover Pictorial Archive) (Paperback)
I agree wholeheartedly with T. Huff against the first reviewer. I am going to buy this book, knowing what to expect from it at the very good price offered. How silly to do down a book because it doesn't fit a very specific purpose you want to use it for.

"This book is rubbish because it's no good for using as a chopping board for onions..."

"This book is rubbish because it fell apart after only one week of using it to kill mosquitos..."
