We own a small lodging operation (vacation rentals in private homes and cabins) here in Telluride, Colorado, and have used several of these units for years. We've had very good luck with them, and have had very good customer service from Medisana for replacement parts, etc. Our clients love these small "personal" humidifiers (but the unit is easily able to humidify a bedroom, for instance).

Working with these units regularly, we realized that when overfilled where the water feeds into the dispensing device, they won't work. No worries: pop the little cone where the moisture is dispensed, use a paper towel to soak up some water there -- confirm the water is below the waterline built into the unit there -- pop the little cone back on, and off you go!

For users who didn't discover this simple trick, it would appear the unit doesn't work at all. Hope this experience helps.

The unit is very small compared with typical humidifiers, and yet does a very good job, and then turns itself off. The small size allows placement on a nightstand without taking up nearly the same space as a conventional unit. Looks nicer too, and much, much easier to handle the large cone that has the water in it compared with conventional larger units (smaller, lighter, etc.).

One version has the timer; one does not. We've been using the non-timer units; the fact that the unit shuts itself off when the water is gone is ideal in our applications. Some people might enjoy being able to set the unit with the timer to begin prior to their bedtime, and perhaps to turn off before the unit runs out of water, say, after two hours or so. Presume the timer units can be programmed for both start and stop times, but haven't tried them yet.

This unit is good looking and just the right size - not too big. It is operating perfectly. I too thought it was broken but reading a post about the water limit line in the nebulizer tank (not the big tank) fixed the problem for me when I lowered the water level to the limit line. The problem of overfill happens when you move the unit after loading the main tank with water -- which the directions say not to do. The directions actually point to the fill line overflow problem but I'm surprised that this tidbit of information regarding the water line isn't more direct in the manual. It would be great if they put it in a troubleshooting section as well. It would save all the returns. This is a great little unit. I am using it now. It is quiet even on high with the only sound being that of the water -- which is actually calming as well.

I am a licensed massage therapist and have been using the Medisana Personal Humidifier in my practice for over two years and have been extremely pleased with it.
I've kept it running most of the time that I've been in the office. I've used a variety of essential oils in it and the plastic bubble and cap is starting to deteriorate and I need to replace those parts.
But overall it's the best thing I've found so far and I've recommended it to many others.

The Medisana personal humidifier works well beside my bed taking up little space. It has a two speed fan with the light optional as to on or off. I also use it for aromatherapy in my living room using various essential oil blend. A similar product for aromatheraphy alone is almost $100. I like my Medisana very much.

The Medisana Personal Humidifier that I purchased was not the deluxe model. It is called the standard model.

I purchased it a while ago, but didn't need it until this past week.

The user manual left a lot to be desired. The operation instructions were intermixed with the two models (standard and deluxe) per 4.1 through 4.4 instructions. I had to study the directions to figure out which ones pertained to my model. This was particularly difficult for me because I wanted to use the humidifier immediately and didn't appreciate having to decypher the directions.

The humidifier worked like a charm the first time. The second time, it kept shutting off. I realized the problem. Before the second usage, I put a hand towel under the humidifier. Evidentally the unevenness the towel created on the surface interfered with the operation. I removed the towel, sat it directly on the stand and everything has been great. This humidifier just doesn't spit moisture everywhere. Therefore I didn't need protection on the stand or on the carpet under the stand.

So far, so good as far as I am concerned.

I had mine for 2 years when I drowned it through carelessness. It worked perfect for me and I loved the lights. That is why I went searching for a new one. The lights soothed me and helped me sleep. The mist kept my noise from clogging up and my throat from drying up.
I must admit I didn't know you could use Vicks and the like in it. I only put a slight mist of Musk oil in mine or lemon to freshen my room in winter.
I can't wait till they come back in. I am only sorry QVC stopped carrying them as they had a much better price.

Medisana Deluse Personal Humidifier.Medisana Deluxe Personal Humidifier with Bonus Eucalyptus This is the second one that I have purchased, the first I used Vick Vapor and it seemed to clog the unit. I begain taking 2 days to use the water instead of overnight.

I would have given this humidifier 5 stars,however i purchased 1 last year and it only lasted for that long 1 year (which really means the winter season while the house heat is on)
On the otherhand, it was the best humidifier i had ever purchased (i purchased a few)Usually humidifiers leave your carpets and floors a soggy, wet mess, ruins furniture. this one is just perfect, i have it in my daughters bedroom it keeps it moist without the mess. the blue light is a really nice color and makes a cool reflection on the ceiling.
All in all i liked this humidifier so much that i did purchase another one just like it. hopefully this one will last a bit longer.

I also was unable to get this unit to work. The replacement did not work either, and I am still waiting for a refund.

Upon receiving this item, I read the instruction booklet and carefully followed all directions. My unit's light functioned well and that is where functionality ended. When I turned the unit on, it began humidifying but then promptly stopped. After about an hour of trials, I gave up and ordered a replacement. Unfortunately the exact same thing happened with the replacement unit. I called Medisana customer service, who agreed that the product should be functioning with all of the steps that I took and agreed that it appeared defective. So I sent the second unit back as well...

If you are looking for a product that tests your patience and makes you question your sanity, I would highly recommend this unit. Otherwise, I would buy something else!
