About the Author

Susan M. Sanderson, Senior Technical Writer for Chestnut Hill Enterprises, Inc., is the author of the best-selling textbook, Computers in the Medical Office, 7th edition, and is now the author of Practice Management and EHR: The Total Patient Encounter for Medisoft Clinical. She also authored Electronic Health Records for Allied Health Professions, Case Studies for Use with Computers in the Medical Office, and Patient Billing. In her more than ten years' experience with Medisoft, and now Medisoft Clinical, Susan has participated in alpha and beta testing, has worked with instructors to site test materials, and has provided technical support to McGraw-Hill customers. Make sure you select the advanced installation for this software when you first install it or it will mess you up when you get so far in your class my laptop cd drive quit working and I couldn't reinstall it so I got to chapter 8 in my book and couldn't finish my class and failed the class for the semester and had to retake the class again but other than that the software is good and at a cheap price.

I read the other review and the same thing happened to me. After chapter 8, the software just breaks down and the information can't be retrieved or entered. I might fail the final unit too.

I purchased 2 medisoft v14 software products. One for myself and one for another student. One of the cd's worked ok after several hours on the phone with tech support for medisoft, and the other cd had the wrong information on it with the label reading something different. It took me several days with many hours invested to have the cds replace by Medisoft. After using the product for a few weeks, I have learned that you can not view the files that you save. The files will not open, it gives you an error message. If you happen to backup information before you restore it at the beginning of starting a new chapter, it will erase everything you have worked on previous. The text is extremely small and you cannot change it! Tech support basically tells you, "it is what it is." I would never recommend any school to purchase this for their program of study.
