It's true the voice of John Daniel's may be hypnotic, and he is certainly very good at helping you focus and maintain a clear image of relaxation and sleep. I have been able to fall asleep quite easily before the end of his part of the CD. But that music! Yikes! It begins like the shrill scream of an alarm clock, and if you have managed to fall asleep, it will wake you up, even if you are not a chronic insomniac. Who in the world would have picked out that sort of sibling for such a beautiful voice? It's really a shame, because I think Mr. Daniel's has a great gift, but I am considering retiring the CD now as though I fall asleep easy enough to his voice, I wake up with a screaming headache from that God-awful music. Most nights the very beginning of the music awakens me, I fall back asleep, and in the morning I have a headache. Truly horrific, I think I prefer being an insomniac. I set my CD player to "Repeat all" in case I do not fall asleep the first time around, but I have to rethink that idea too, because that twisted metal scream at the beginning of the music ends up scratching my brain all night. Sorry, Mr. Daniel's, you blew it.

I found this to be very helpful for two major reasons. First, the emphasis is on relaxation not sleep so the pressure feels lessened. Second the visual images are lovely... the only negative issue is that the back ground music could be lower, however, it didn't interfere to any great extent....nor did the second part of the tape that is all music. I think that this is a wonderful tape especially for those of us where sleep evades us because we are unable to relax

I've been having stress related sleep problems for over a year. My doctor recommended meditation. I had no idea what to buy, so I bought 10 different meditation CDs. While the other CDs had nice meditations, this CD was BY FAR the best for sleeping. There is only one meditation track on this CD, and it is unusually long (30 min). It is the perfect pace for slowly drifting into sleep. I would highly recommend this CD to anyone with sleep problems. The only (small) problem with this CD is the second track, which is just music. It is dramatic and wakes me up after the great meditation. I usually program my CD player to just play the first track and I'm thinking about copying the first track to another CD.
