As a busy wife and mother, I struggle daily to incorporate both spiritual devotions and physical activity into my routines. I know in my mind and heart that both will benefit me tremendously, but frequently manage to find excuses to keep me from my daily prayer or workout times.

Barbara Bartocci has written a book which has helped me tremendously. By sharing the stories of 48 "regular" people (not extreme athletes) and their exploration of the connection between physical activity and spiritual awareness, Barbara sparks the reader to inspiration. Meditation in Motion has helped me see the "opportunities" in my own life to experience that sacred through the blessing God has given me to be able to get out and move! Barbara Bartocci will motivate you to experiment with new sports and activities you may never have thought of or tried. The book includes a "Know Yourself" quiz, 21 Ways to link physical and spiritual fitness, and Barbara's "Coach's Reflection" at the end of each story which incorporate spiritual and physical principals. I hope you'll pick up this book and make it and the ideas it shares a part of your own life!

I am a regular exerciser who seems to be always looking for ways to combine exercising with praise and worship. The stories in this book showed how it can happen automatically when you are involved in physical activity you love. It showed me how and when it aleady happens for me.

Her stories are engaging and I enjoyed reading how people expanded their horizons physically and spiritually at the same time.

As she has in her previous books, Barbara Bartocci instantly connects with readers, sharing stories that motivate and inspire. She writes with verve and common sense, and with such style, that you're captivated from first story to last as you learn new ways to combine exercise and spirtuality. This book is a winner!

Barbara Bartocci has written a gem of a book about living life fully. Through her stories, of actual people, I gleaned the importance of the physical and spiritual aspects of life blending into sustaining the "whole person." Whether you are a church-goer (and I am not), or a believer in God, or an agnostic, there are significant insights in her inspiring stories, and her coaching. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking ways to enrich their personal growth, or as a gift to a friend who may need an act of kindness and support.

As a fisherperson, a walker and a dancer, I have known the kind of spiritual connection that Barbara talks about in Meditation in Motion.
It was inspiring to read all of the stories.
It's a lovely book to sip like cool water as you reflect.

How refreshing! A book of practical advice that both teaches and inspires without making the reader feel guilty. Barbara Bartocci's newest book Meditation in Motion is filled with down-to-earth true stories that I could identify with and practical advice that is truly doable. The author takes a chance and tells her own stories as well showing that like the rest of us she has vulnerabilities as well as strengths. Her insights are unique and provocative as she intertwines sports and physical fitness with spiritual perceptions and suggestions. This book would appeal to exercise-challenged people as well as to dedicated athletes-and all those others in-between like myself.
