I quite enjoyed this book, which was (and is) easy to pick up any time I need to. I found it very inspirational and useful. The messages were thought-provoking and enlightening. I appreciated the author's candor throughout the book, and the photographer's keen eye deepened the effect of the meditations. I would recommend this book to anyone from novice to advanced practitioners of meditation.
Meditation by Nature is a peaceful and calming work with extraordinary photographs and insightful writing! We all have difficult times of stress, pressure, sadness, confusion or hopelessness but the tone of this lovely book can calm the inner turmoil. This book belongs in a prominent place in every home where it can be picked up, quietly looked at, and left out for the next time it is needed. I particularly appreciate the lack of "preachiness". Dr. Howell's focus on simple and non-sectarian passages that we all can relate to at one time or another is a refreshing change from other meditation works. This book should also be available for any office that deals with alcoholism, drug use, mental issues, etc., since its words give the reader much hope for better times. Meditation by Nature is an exciting and beautiful collaboration!
Meditation by Nature is a series of guided meditations on some difficult topics such as loss, letting go, addiction; ending with a meditation on accepting joy. The text and the photos put me in touch with the expansive inner space where answers originate. Reading this book inspired me to renew my meditation practice. It was a pleasure to read in one sitting, and is useful for dipping into when the need arises.
As with her previous books, Dr. Howell brings a deep understanding that comes from years of experience and her time working with other thought and spiritual leaders. If you enjoy Deepak Chopra's work, I would recommend Meditation by Nature. Beyond the challenging and thought-provoking topics covered, the photography is absolutely stunning. Looking forward to Volume 2.

This book provides a unique approach to handling those difficult moments we all face in our life in a way that is accesible and natural to our being. Meditation by Nature,by Dr. Bonnie H. Howell, is filled with her wisdom and her experience in working with people. The meditations and guidance are beautiful and accessible and most importantly helpful. This is a book for everyone's library, sitting on the shelf, available to pull out any time we need something or rather someone to help ground us when life grabs us in unexpected ways. When you read and follow these guided meditations, it will be like having a personal session with the author, an extraordinary human being and gifted spiritual teacher and counselor.
