Meditation teacher Young believes that one can carry the high level of concentration gained during meditation into physical activity in order to make workouts more productive and satisfying. In the first part of this program, for which he also serves as reader, he describes the mental and physical changes that occur during both meditation and intense activity (e.g., the much-talked-about "runner's high"). Young cites anecdotal examples of athletes from various cultures who have, perhaps unknowingly, achieved instances of "mind over body" that resulted in unbelievable physical feats. In the program's second half, Young leads the listener through several meditation exercises, step-by-step. Although the author's emphasis is upon transferring meditative concentration to exercise, anyone interested in meditation can benefit from Young's expertise and thought-provoking observations.
