5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and uplifting, August 24, 2007
By
This review is from: Meditations on the Gita (Audio CD)
The first time I listened to this CD I have to admit I should get used to the voice of Ram Dass, so changed and slow after his near-fatal stroke in the late nineties. But in fact he seems to be talking from an even deeper space than before. And the intensity and the devotion is bound to grip your heart.

Already in 1974 Ram Dass taught the Gita as evidenced in his brilliant book "Paths to God", so the quotes is really selected with insight and wisdom. The music is ambient, never gets in the way and at the same time profound and accomplished. Mainly by John McDowell, best known for his many years as percussionplayer with Krishna Das, who plays keyboards on this release, but Gardner Cole also lends his considerable talent to one of the tracks.

This CD is perfect for meditation, the voice of this very experienced and deep psychonaut leading you to the silence and the Beyond.

Uplifting and beautiful

I'm a big fan of Ram Dass as a spiritual figure. I love his easy to understand and very sincere writings. But this CD is certainly not my type. This is more for the devotional type of person where words don't matter.
