Joan Z. Borysenko, Ph.D., has been described as a respected scientist, gifted therapist, and unabashed mystic. Trained at Harvard Medical School, she was an instructor in medicine until 1988. Currently the President of Mind/Body Health Sciences, Inc., she is an internationally known speaker and consultant in women’s health and spirituality, integrative medicine and the mind/body connection. I have been a reader of Joan Borynsenko for years. This meditation CD provided tremendous stress relief while going through the pain and discomfort of chemo treatments. I focused on the healing aspect of God and the medication rather than the side effects of the chemicals in my body. This meditation will now become a routine part of my life. We shouldn't need a crisis to learn how to relax and meditate. We have more inner power than realized if you just take the time sit still and discover what is already there within us. This CD was invaluable in discovering this for me.

I listened to this tape while I was recovering from a back injury. The meditation uses guided visualization and deep breathing to help focus on whatever part of your body suffers from pain. I found it very helpful - it decreased my pain and helped me calm down in general. I would recommend it to anyone with chronic pain or muscular injuries!

This CD teaches you many different ways to meditate and that one way is not good for everyone. After each instruction, Joan leads us in that particular meditation. She uses love, humor and knowledge to teach meditations that cross the lines of religion. There is something here for everyone.
