5.0 out of 5 stars Helpful Recipes, December 29, 2005
By
This review is from: A Medium's Cookbook: Recipes for the Soul: A Step-By-Step Guide Toward Creating a Banquet of Connections to Those Who Have Passed Over (Paperback)
I believe there is s-o-o-o much helpful information and wisdom in this book. By reading a chapter and then looking at the questions at the end of each chapter....it helps you get your thoughts together and "focus" on what you are really trying to accomplish and the reasons why. As I was reading the questions and then answering a few, I would come up with an answer.....then I would come up with another question. And I believe questions are wonderful ways to help you explore and expand and begin to become aware. And I found that reading this book is useful in other ways too.....because as we open that pathway of connecting to loved ones, our lives can become fuller, funnier (cause you are always wondering what will happen next) and we can begin to learn to trust our own abilities and intuition in other situations.

I hate to admit it but "cooking" is not my favorite past time. My nephew said in a reading once "Spam" and I have no doubt he was laughing about my cooking. But this "cookbook" is a definite keeper and I am going to learn and grow and have fun using it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great tool for getting in touch with your metaphysical side..., March 24, 2006
This review is from: A Medium's Cookbook: Recipes for the Soul: A Step-By-Step Guide Toward Creating a Banquet of Connections to Those Who Have Passed Over (Paperback)
Medium's Cookbook is a great work that's chock full of information about how we can get in touch with our right brain / creative side and also the inate psychic ability that we all have. Suzane Northorp offers lots of valuable information that is clear to beginners without being condescending, and offers some great creative tools that everyone can find time for -- such as journaling, light meditation, and tracking dreams.

After seeing Suzane at a Borders in NYC I was immediately impressed by the passion she has for her work and her desire to help people get in touch with their intuitive side. I was a total novice before reading this book on all things metaphysical, and had never tried to meditate or contact people on the "other side." I still do not have much experience with receiving messages from "DPs" (as Suzane refers to them), but in doing some of the activities in this book I have opened up my intuition and become more in tune with my surroundings and my life direction.

Overall, reading this book and working with it has been an A+ experience.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Medium's Cookbook:Recipies for the soul, June 27, 2006
This review is from: A Medium's Cookbook: Recipes for the Soul: A Step-By-Step Guide Toward Creating a Banquet of Connections to Those Who Have Passed Over (Paperback)
I have read over 100 books of this nature. This book is the bottom of the list. I cannot recommend it for purchase/reading. I have read two other books by Suzanne Northrop and find them ok. Not great. I truly believe she means well. Her method of comparing the otherside with a "cook book" is absurd to start with. She constantly refers to this "cook book" throughout the book ad infinitum until it becomes disgusting. She's selling books.
