my dad likes it,
This review is from: Medline Aluminum Folding Cane, Black (Health and Beauty)
I was concerned about giving my dad the impression that we thought he was unsteady on his feet (although our family has been concerned he will fall). I got him this collapsible cane that could be tucked into a glove box or Mom's purse in an emergency. To my surprise, he loved it, and I think it being collapsible was a factor. It would take a medium to large purse but would not be overly heavy to carry around. It extends almost as easily as a pop up umbrella. However, it stays collapsed until you want it to extend, so is not a danger. The quality is excellent, with buttons that allow you to adjust it for different heights. The handle is flat and, to me, that looks like you could lean on it more comfortably and securely than on a curved handle. I am very happy with this purchase.

I used this cane for a several weeks to transition off of crutches and it held up very well. My only complaint would be that occasionally the rubber stoppers on the top of each section would come loose. There was never any risk of collapse, and it was just a minor annoyance which is easily overlooked considering the cheap price. I would recommend this cane to anyone who needs a sturdy folding cane for a temporary timeframe. No idea how it will last long term.
Pros: *Super cheap *Foldable so it can be stashed easily *Did not loosen up under constant use for 4 weeks *Good adjustment that didn't loosen up Cons: *Lots of minor chips in handle after a few weeks *Rubber stoppers in the top of each section can come loose

I am a 44 year old woman who suffers from arthritis in my knees. Some days are worse than others. I live in a large city and must commute back and forth on a bus and a train, and some days I have trouble walking and standing. I needed a reliable, sturdy cane for those times I get tired, but not all the time. I also wanted a cane that didn't look too "elderly" because I still care about looking old with the cane. This cane has exceeded my expectations. The black color is very dark and consistent, and the small accent brass below the handle is just a nice touch of class. It is very lightweight and folds down small enough to fit in my totebag. One thing to note that it is adjustable, up to 36", and as a tall person (5'11") is use the very tallest setting. But when the handle is extended, it does not fold up as small as you see in the picture. Not a deal breaker, but just a fact. One very nice feature that I did not see on other is the nice discreet black colored strip of velcro that you use to wrap around the cane when it is is collasped to keep it from popping open. But when you want it, the heavy duty rubber band that runs inside the cane is nice and tight and the cane pops right open.
I would highly recommend this nice attractive sturdy cane for anyone who needs a portable cane from time to time.

This cane is extremely light weight, folds easily, opens in a flash and can be stowed in a large handbag. Does exactly what it is supposed to do and looks good too!

Folding cane,

The cane does the job. It was easy to adjust to my height. However, I learned that one has to be careful with it. I yanked it out of a pack sleeve and a section caught on a compression strap. I broke the shock cork and had to buy a length of it and repair the cane. It is good as new now.

I purchased this medline aluminum folding cane for my uncle so he could travel around with his bad hip. This cane works wonders. It is foldable and has a velcro closing strap around it. It is also adjustable in height. I have purchased medline products in the past. They are the best.

This convenient folding cane has been my companion on many trips where a regular cane would have gotten in the way. I don't always use a cane, but do get flare ups of arthritis and gout in my toes, ankles, and knees. Having a cane that can be folded and stored in my large computer case has been a real blessing on more than one occasion.
The cane is east to adjust for the user's height and is very sturdy when deployed. Highly Recommended!

I had meniscus surgery and had to use a can for a while afterwards. This worked just fine and the folding mechanism actually made it fairly convenient to carry around in a bag.
I had no complaints. And it didn't look absurdly like something my grandfather would have used, which was nice. If it matters, I'm 5'10 / normal weight. |
