5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent walker...
I ordered this walker for my father a few months ago and am well-pleased. It is much less expensive than comparable walkers. The cushioned seat and basket are handy for long "trips" and the wheels roll smoothly even over grassy areas. A good buy for someone looking for a quality walker. Even ships for free!

3.0 out of 5 stars Medline Deluxe Folding Rollator Walker
I did not realize that this type of walker is not recommended by most Physical Therapists. The problem is that some elderly don't know how to use the brakes to control the walker and it gets too far ahead of them. When this happens they are leaning too far forward, or they have planted their face or knees on the floor or pavement.
The benefit is that the person...

The rollater is very handy, not a bit cumbersome, but sturdy. And it's good looking. When my friends come to visit they all dash over to the cart to try it out. I recently had a bout with Sciatica, walking was unbearable, but the little cart came to my rescue. I am grateful to Amazon, for helping so many folks and for such an unbelievable price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Medline Folding Walker, October 11, 2005

This item was an excellent purchase. It is used daily. Two of the rubber protecters have come off but were glued back on and have not been a problem since. Having used the item I would purchase another if needed.

The benefit is that the person doesn't have to pause/stop while walking like they do with the box stand type walker. Those only have wheels on the front so the back either is dragged or the elder has to stop and pick up the walker and place it in front of them.
Guess it all depends if your user can work and remember how to use the brakes. If not, this walker is not for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, but does not fold-up well, August 13, 2006

This works well for a four wheel walker, and the basket is practical. The biggest problem we had with this is that it does not fold up very compactly. You will need a big car/trunk or minivan like vehicle. If will virtually take up the whole trunk of something like a Honda CIVIC (and be difficult to put in and take out as well).

5.0 out of 5 stars Best in the house, June 7, 2007

I live in a Senior Complex and this resident has seen this at the local Rite Aid Store for $179.95, and wanted to get one so she asked me as I had a car if I would not pick it up for her. So I told her yes, But first when to my computer and checked. This roller walker by Medline was rated best in catagorie and Amazone had it on sale for $99.99. with free shipping. She was thrilled I had saved her $80.00. Not only that but this roller walker by Medline was the only roller walker in our complex that had a curved back when you sat down, all the others had the straight bar accross the back. she walked around like a peacock so proudly in her blue Medline roller walker. And yes here name was Peacock, (Irene). I was just happy to help this widowed woman. We sometimes forget who brought us into ythis world and what we really owe them.

5.0 out of 5 stars rolling walker, August 30, 2005
This item arrived quickly and in great shape. I have seen this same walker for over $200.00 in many places, and this one is just as nice in every way. My mother was very happy to get it and its already made her life better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Only an average walker - doesn't hold up over time, December 30, 2009

This Medline walker may be less expensive than other brands, such as Dana Douglas (the Lexus of walkers), or Invacare or Nova walkers (about mid-range quality brands), but as the old saying goes "you get what you pay for."
While this walker worked fine for me at first, after a year of steady use it has already broken down to the point of being quite unusable; it rattles a lot now, and one of the wheels has bent, so that it is almost impossible to use except in a straight line. With even slight turns, I now must wrestle with it, to get it to turn. I often have to pick the whole thing up and reposition it. This is both awkward and painful. If you already have mobility and/or pain issues, it makes those issues worse if you have to wrestle with a walker to make it work. I am now shopping for a higher quality (albeit more expensive) brand, such as those mentioned above. It will be worth it to pay more for a walker that will stand up to daily use (including folding for transport in cars), and that will not give out so soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Walker, July 19, 2005

I bought this for my mom so she would not be resticted on her outings. She loves the fact that she can stop at any time and sit. The only problem I have was in the shipping. The box was torn up and there was minor damage to the walker. I was able to fix it so it wasn't worth sending back.

5.0 out of 5 stars At Last A Little More Freedom & Energy, March 23, 2007
By

My doctor prescribed this thing for me over 3 months ago. I'm quite young so I put off filling the Rx. I had been using the Medline Quad Cane up to then and it helped but I have severe balance problems. I finally picked it up after a recent trip that involved a lot of walking. I was exhausted with the effort of keeping myself upright with the quad cane. Nothing against the quad cane I still use it a lot. Just not good for me for lots of walking. So we came home and I finally got the Medline rollator.

This thing is fabulous!! Sleek in appearance which is nice. Much better than those awful "institutional" walkers. The seat lets me rest while I'm stopped. I went to the library yesterday and was all over the place! And the basket was super handy for carrying my books. I used to get tired halfway through a library visit, so I had given it up. But this little baby has changed that!

I even used it to help me with my laundry the other day. Instead of scooting my basket slowly down the hallway to the washer/dryer I plopped it on the seat and wheeled it down with no effort! Plus, I used the seat to sit on while I unloaded the dryer and folded my clothes.

Yes, I will agree with one other review that it is NOT car friendly. When I'm with my sister who drives a mid size car she really struggled at first to get it in. She has a system now :) Fits in my hubby's truck really easy though. Great buy, well built and snazzy to boot. I got the red one :)
