5.0 out of 5 stars My experience and comparison with the other medline chair that has smaller back wheels.
I use this for moving my disabled wife around places like the zoo or park. I originally had the other medline chair with smaller back wheels but one of the footrests broke so I decided to purchase this one as an 'upgrade' to try out.

The difference is night and day. The bigger back wheel makes pushing her around a lot easier, especially uphill. Downhill...

1.0 out of 5 stars VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!!
We just used this chair for my brother that has a Traumatic Brain Injury for the first time this week and when he was being pushed from one room to the next both handles snapped off. This is obviously a major fault as we are lucky he was on flat ground. We could have got the one defected chair, but for someone with a disability I would be very careful and not take any...

Downhill can be harder; however, the handbrakes function better since they are gripping the big wheel whereas before the handbrakes would lock up the tinier back wheels and you would start to slide...so given that the handbrakes actually work right, downhills are a bit easier as well but you must be careful to have your hands on the brakes.

The other main difference that my wife loves is the ride is much smoother. Her back is easily upset and when I go over bumps and even small things such as gaps between concrete slabs she hardly notices them anymore.

Size is essentially the same. It folds easily and pops into my trunk and isn't so heavy that I would ever need help to carry it. Also, the frame is clearly heavy duty (compared with some of the really lightweight chairs you'll see that would break fast).

As far as reliability, I will still need more time (about a year) before I could really comment. I can say that my initial concern that the back wheel was possibly puncturable has been put to rest ( I frequently take it down dirt trails for short distances). Its not an inflatable tire so puncturing really isn't an issue.

Very happy I took the plunge and got this one.

Each time I went out with my husband and needed a wheelchair from a place of business, either they were too tight, broken, or they didn't have one. I decided to ordered this wheelchair because it appeared to be user friendly. Well, I'm so pleased with my wheelchair. My husband tells me it so easy to push and it's lightweight and convenient. I keep it on my SUV so that whenever we're out it can be readily available. I highy this wheelchair to anyone with a disability whether it be temporary or permanent.

My husband is disabled and I have to take him to dialysis. I am not able to lift a regular wheelchair. This one is a breeze to handle. I love it

4.0 out of 5 stars transport chair, June 24, 2011

This seemed like a wonderful transport chair, but, unfortunately I had to return it as it was too small for my dad. He is 6 feet tall, and the seat was not deep enough; he felt like the chair was pushing him too far forward and his knees were up too high on the foot rests. For a smaller person, I think it would be great. I recommend trying these things locally before ordering online. The chair was delivered quickly, and the company was gracious about the return.

The product lives up to its name. The only problem is that the foot rests are too high. It's hard for my mother to bend and lift her knees to put her feet up on the footrests. Otherwise, it is great.

Just received the chair, fast shipping by seller.every thing seem perfect, however,if you want to use the seatbelt, the belt is too short for the big person, have to remove and replace the belt to the midle screw from the back support.
