Doesn't seat well to toilet,
By Yeolla "Yeolla" (Calif) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Medline Locking Elevated Toilet Seat with Arms (Health and Beauty)
I sure hope all who read this is somehow helped by my comments. This purchased marked a new path in my world. Elder care. There isn't much information or reviews available on items like these.
Installation and assembly were pretty easy. No tools needed. I liked the fact it had arms to assist when getting up or down. Yet if one doesn't apply equal pressure to both sides this baby will tilt and land your love one right on to the floor. Would not order this feature again. In my opinion it doesn't fasten tight enough on to the toilet seat. I tried with and without the toilet lid attached did not lessen the amount of play side to side. What it has is a clamp that you screw down and it will clip on to the front edge of bottom of toilet rim. This is the only attachment point. If someone sits down close to the front the rear will pop up out of place. Not a good thing! On the plus side, it is easy to clean. Raises one up about 5 inches off the floor so its less of a distance to sit down to. Yet if you are 5 ft or shorter you will not be able to touch the floor with the bottoms of your feet. It is wide and comfortable. Has a depression in the front to allow for ease in self clean up. How about it? IS there anyone out there who would like to design an better elevated toilet seat? Sure hope so!

When you are lucky enough to be older than 90, it is a pure joy to find a "seat of ease" high enough so it is easy to get out of.
Relatively easy to assemble. You will need a mallet or hammer and block of wood to get the arms in, but it is easy to put on the toilet and take off for cleaning.. You MUST keep your weight on both arms when sitting down or getting up or the seat will twist off.

Twice while standing I leaned on one handle of this unit and this caused the toilet seat to release from the toilet. It's not save to hold onto lightly while getting out of shower. It's so wide it crowds the opening of the shower.
