In this debut collection of poems, Dian Duchin Reed uniquely weaves her many gifts: cleverness of language, curiosity for life's mysteries, mastery of many subjects, and memories so pure and personal I almost felt I was that childhood friend who played "pick-up-sticks" and endless games of "gin rummy." The ghost of Dorothy Parker must have whispered to Dian Duchin Reed in some of these poems. Other poems hum contemplatively.
