Incredible amount of research...,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Medusa File: Secret Crimes and Coverups of the U. S. Government (Paperback)
I have about 600+ various books on corrupt government practices (both US and foreign governments). Some are real well researched and substantiated with FOIA and other such documents, others lean more towards the la-la land of "could be" conspiracies. The Medusa File book belongs to the group of well researched works with substantial amount of evidence. After reading it I can think of at least 30 other books whose reading I could have saved by opening this one first. I only wish author Craig Roberts read Antony Sutton's book "Wall Street and the Russian revolution" which documents how the Communist uprising was financed by Standard Oil and Wall Street financial interests. (Russia as a banana republic - with no bananas.) It would have been really interesting to see which way Roberts could add that information to the contents of this book... that Washington not only abandoned 10,000s of POWs to Communist States, it CREATED those Communist states in the first place.

The Medusa Files is Factual Conclusions,

Having read the book twice, I ran various sections of the book through Korean Vets and Gulf War Vets. The validated the facts of the book as they were presented and confirmed that the approach of what "really" happened was not accurately presented by the government.Excellent reading - I have shipped additional copies to my friends who agree that this is the best government going in the world today, however, there is an evil presence gaining ground at the price of people's liberties, happiness and lives.

You want to know, but you don't...,

Craig Roberts is one of the few credible people investigating the government cover-ups going on in our generation and the past. The details and bibliographies, plus the availability of the author on-line for the average 'Joe' to query impressed me no end.
You can tell by the background Colonel Roberts has that he is not a sensationalist trying to sell books and videos; he is a soldier and a cop who found out the government he laid his life down for was using him and lying to him, and they screwed the wrong guy that time. As a film producer and screenwriter who is working now with Craig to produce his amazing life story into a feature film, I have read many books trying to find the right story to expose these creeps and this is the main thrust of the upcoming film "The Medusa File". Read the book - don't wait for the movie. Matt Pittaway, www.HisHouseMedia.com

The truth IS out there (you just have to look for it),
This review is from: The Medusa File: Secret Crimes and Coverups of the U. S. Government (Paperback)
Mr. Roberts did an excellent job exposing the darker side of government and US foreign policy since 1942. Unfortunately, there's nothing stopping the powers that be from continueing their assault on America and the Constitution. But with this book, at least they're exposed for who and what they are: a clear and present danger, which, if allowed to go unchecked, will cause even more harm than before. Thanks Mr. Roberts, for shedding light on things that have remained in the dark for far longer than they should.

Craig Roberts follows his wonderful success, "Kill Zone, A Sniper Looks at Dealey Plaza", with this excellent description of many of the covert conspirational activities of our federal government. Like his above mentioned book, this is a read that you will probably have a hard time putting down after first beginning it. The information is important, well researched, and extraordinarily relevant to our current situation. To Craig Roberts, once again, "Bravo Zulu!"

This is an outstanding book. Roberts puts forth a great investigative effort on a topic that more of us should be interested. He depicts numerous historical events, then challenges the reader to extrapolate current events. At times this book will have you looking over your back. It provides weeks of discourse with other readers. Thanks, Craig, for this outstanding source of information.

This incredible book blows the lid off of our government's involvement in assassinations, mind-control, drug smuggling, abandoning POWs, the Amtrak derailment & the OKC bombing coverup. A must-read.

This is a pretty weird mix of stuff. My first impression was favorable: the author describes himself as an ex-military trained sniper and recounts his examination of the infamous Texas School Book Depository, and his conclusion that the "official" version of the Kennedy assassination was, from his experience, impossible. Well, like many others, I've long felt there was a fog of mystery surrounding that event, and his credentials were pretty good. (He's actually written a book on the topic, which I haven't read.) So I was ready to be impressed by revelations.
The first section of the book seemed solid enough. It's devoted to accounts of how, following WWII, the US and other countries, notably Russia, "hoovered up" (excuse the phrase) many scientists and engineers who had been working for the Axis powers. Many had been engaged in research in areas such as chemical or biological warfare, and of course we know of figures such as Wernher von Braun and his contribution to the American space program. I have no way of assessing the accuracy of Roberts' narration, but it certainly seemed likely enough. And given the tendency of our political and military leaders to drive for power and "results" irrespective of any moral issues, the claim that many of these people could have been candidates for war crimes trials, if higher-ups had not intervened, also seemed reasonable. The next sections, on the lasting effects of Agent Orange, the serious impact of Gulf War syndrome, and the extensive efforts to cover up or minimize the problems, also rang true and resonated with other things I'd read in these areas. Now he turned to claims that in many recent wars, from WWII through Korea and Vietnam, many thousands of American service personnel were not in fact killed in action, or "missing presumed dead", but languishing in a variety of nasty prison environments in Laos, North Korea, China, or Russian gulags. It was here that I began to wonder. After all, the Vietnam POW issue has been in the media for a long time. Wasn't there a major fact-finding tour to North Vietnam, with co-operation from the country's leadership, that could find no trace? Oh well. Mark this as "don't know." [BUT - edit added 10/3/2008 - see my comment below. There is more to this.] But this was where I began to look at Roberts' endnotes to see if his claims were well backed up. Mixed story. For instance, one lengthy quote is from a Foreign Service dispatch of 1954. How did he find it? I looked at the National Archives web site. Well, if you are prepared to spend time at College Park, MD, and do intensive preparatory study on the classification system, so that you can specify which boxes of material you want to search, you might get lucky. So, I am impressed - must have done real research. On the other hand I look at several other detailed claims: what is the source? Some book called "Soldiers of Misfortune." How do I know the basis for that book's material? If that book is well-referenced he should have quoted the original source "as referenced in .." And now from here on in, as we work through the Bay of Pigs, other Latin American and African events, and move on to speculation on the cause of some well-known air crashes (Pan Am 103, TWA 800) we tend to get more and more references to " a witness said" "an informant reports that." By the time we reach the Murragh building disaster, the main thrust is simply to cast doubt on "official" stories by referring to odd "facts" or events that aren't really well documented, or apparent inconsistencies or overridden evidence in the accepted stories. For instance he suggests the Clinton White House was involved in all sorts of skullduggery, including the supposed murder (rather than suicide) of Vince Foster. Come on - ol' Bill was quite a character, but murder?? He repeats the error that Vince Foster was left-handed, so why gun in right hand? He doesn't mention that much of the ongoing pressure to present Foster's suicide as a murder is generated by a bunch of conservative pressure groups, well documented in an article in the Wall Street Journal of March 23,1995. And as we go on, the "suggestive" elements, the "it could have been" take over more and more from the factual accounting. For instance, I'm not sold on his acceptance of the theory that a missile brought down TWA800. Yes, there are some troubling eye-witness stories (if they have been accurately reported). But why would no terror organization claim credit? The other suggestion, that is was a US military accident, seems to have to tug at times and positions to make it even remotely possible. (Though now I've gotten interested, I'm going to read some more on this subject...) Personally, I'm far more worried by the crappy Kaptan (Kapton?) wire insulation that is used in 90% of jetliners and has so often been shown to erode or overheat, with dangerous results. Have you ever taken a can (as I did as a kid) with just a little gasoline in it - but plenty vapor - and ignited it (with the aid of a VERY LONG stick?) The resulting unforgettable bang may suggest what can happen with an electrical spark inside a much larger, nearly empty, airplane fuel tank All in all, although there are some interesting questions to follow up, and some solid work on government/CIA appalling skullduggery in areas like Latin America, I have to say I remain open-minded about many of the cases he describes. One statement I certainly do believe is that his book was refused by mainstream publishers, so he set up his own operation. It's about the worst edited - or un-edited- book I've ever read - absolutely riddled with errors of grammar, spelling, and word usage. To take a tiny example, you have to wonder about the level of care and attention in research of someone who writes several pages on a rail incident and keeps misspelling "Amtrak" as "Amtrack." He is always mixing up the usual word-pair suspects - principle/principal, lie/lay, effect/affect - the latter with the result at one point of saying exactly the opposite of what he means! "This issue might...effect American aid to Israel..." in other words, would cause America to give Israel aid! Only because we know that America already does that, and from the context, is it clear that he meant "affect." Sometimes when I come across a book that seems to be error-prone, I keep a tally inside the back cover. I haven't got quite to the end of the book yet, but I've already noted 64 errors in English of varying degrees of severity. OK, that's not the same as finding out-and-out errors of fact (the only one I've seen is the handedness of Vince Foster) but it just adds to a general sense of unreliability. So overall? Well, whether all his allegations and suggestions are true or not, it certainly confirmed my feeling that Ike was right when he warned about the growing power of the "military-industrial complex." There are too many people in that world who care about nothing but power and money. They are joined by ideologues in the political sphere to make a combination that is both truly dangerous to our democracy, and leads to totally misguided - in fact evil - adventurism abroad. Paranoia also seems to play a role. It's hard to know how to ensure that positions of power are filled by sane, clear-thinking people with some decent sense of morality. The mainstream media are usually little help. What lies ahead? Revolution? Fascism? Don't know.

An old saying I have heard alot is that the truth hurt's. I feel this book is a must read for American's to get themselves out of the dark. I have also heard people say that I love my country, but I fear my government. The truth is out there, it's just getting harder to find it. I has me wondering if we ever realy landed a man on the moon, how aids realy started. Truth is absolute, I'd like to thank Craig Roberts for getting it out. May GOD Bless those who try to reveil it.
