Do you have a meerkat lover in your house? If so, this is definitely a book that your child would enjoy. It has wonderful color photos of meerkats and good information on them as well. My daughter is in third grade and has no problems reading the book, but it would also be good for younger children as it is written in an easy to understand manner. If you are looking for the Disney version of meerkats though, this is not the book for you as this is an educational book about meerkats and how they live, eat, etc.

This book is vey informative. The pictures are good. Being a meerkat adorer I really enjoyed adding this to my meerkat mdse. collection.

I purchased this book after actually visiting Fellow Earthlings Wildlife Center in Morongo Valley, Ca. Pam Bennett-Wallberg, the founder, is the woman pictured in Weaver's book "Meerkats". As a teacher, the book was a great lead-in to our Science unit on animals. The pictures truly do justice to the real life experience of interacting with Meerkats. Great Book, Great Experience!

This is a very educational book for young children who love meerkats. The photos are adorable and the information is easy to understand for the very young.

What can I say? This book is very cheap and is so darling. It is easy reading and has beautiful pictures.

This was basically the only children's book I found on meerkats, but I felt the text was a little too encyclopedic or children's textbook-like in style. It didn't really make the meerkat "come to life" in the way other animal books can (for example "The Wolf: Night Howler" in the Animal Close-ups series from Charlesbridge, which we bought at the same time as "Meerkats").
