Best of Kevin Doyle's books!, September 26, 2000
This review is from: How to Meet Beautiful Women (Paperback)
HTMBW is the third in a series by my favorite author I discovered in Playboy Magazine a few years ago. I'm a busy professional without a lot of time for socializing and Doyle's coaching has provided me with the tools to meet fascinating women as well as improve the quality of companionship I've become accustomed to. Kevin Doyle struck just the right tone with me with Dating Younger Women and he's done it again with this new illustrated trade paperback How to Meet Beautiful Women. My hat is off to the author!

Buy two good books on self-confidence instead of this fluff., February 20, 1998
This review is from: How to Meet Beautiful Women (Paperback)
"How to Meet Beautiful Women" is about as informative as the side panel of a box of cereal. There are a few tips and techniques but none that you can't find in a mass-market paperback that is half the price in the self-help section of any big chain store. Most of the book is the same common sense advice you've already gotten if you'd read any other book on a similar subject. There's nothing groundbreaking about this book. I can't figure out how they can call this a "breakthough" book as they do on the book jacket.
This book is 75 pages long. If you took out all the white space and the amateurish black and white photos, you'd be left with a booklet barely 10 pages long. Fully 10 pages of this book is devoted to advertising another book - "How to Marry Money." In such a slim volume as this, that seems like a rather large proportion. Add the five or six blank pages at the end of the book and it adds up to a serious lack of inspiration.
"How to Meet Beautiful Women" barely skims the surface of this topic. It is full of generalities and platitudes. You'd be much better off buying a more substantial book on building your self-confidence or on becoming happy. Do a search on "confidence" and "happiness" and Amazon.com and you'll find a slew of books.
Personally, I would be sorely disappointed if I wasn't able to return this book. Lke many get-rich-quick schemes, the ads for this book may lead you to believe that it has the answers but it just doesn't deliver. Do you really want to meet beautiful women. My advice-which has never failed me-is to be happy. Now, as deceptively simple as that may seem, it works. This trick, of course, is to be happy more often. There is something really magnetic about people that are happy, confident and unperturbed.

Perfect bachelor birthday gift, August 17, 2001
This review is from: How to Meet Beautiful Women (Paperback)
I've been giving Doyle's books regularly as gifts for holidays, birthdays and graduations. They seem to strike just the right light-hearted note for me and my friends. I thought HTMBW would be offensive and shallow but was pleasantly surprised to note it's well-written, funny and instructive. It was serendipity to come across a review of the book a few years ago in the CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER. My curiousity was aroused and Doyle has since become my favorite author. Before him it was P. G. Wodehouse, another low-key smoothie.
