It is a great book
Granted, if you paid for the book and CD, you should get them both. However, this is a valuable resource and interesting workbook for all ages just by itself. It contains many pictures, short histories of the composers and a puzzle or game about each one. Children and adults like this and I have used this for teaching for years.

Needs CD to be of any use!
My daughter and I very much enjoyed the first book in this series that sells for the same price and comes with an cd. This book, however, did not have a cd even though the cover clearly states, "cd enclosed". The text refers the reader to tracts on the cd to listen to, but with no cd the book is virtually worthless. I returned this one to Amazon, something I rarely do.

Don't let the one star review stop you from buying this book! I have use this book numerous times, and just love it! It is a wonderful resource for my general music classes, private piano studio, and most recently in a "Great Composers" class I am teaching at my school. It would also be great for home schoolers. I highly recommend this book for teachers, parents, students, and hobbyists. It is great with or without the CD.
