5.0 out of 5 stars poems with language like intricate ticking cogs in some mysterious parts-visible grandfather clock, December 13, 2011

This review is from: Meet Me at the Happy Bar (Paperback)
I always love Langan's poems and this collection is no exception. His use of language is some of my favorite. There is a downy softness to the language, yet a chiseled granite hardness at the same time. Each word, each space, each line break seems like an intricate ticking cog in some mysterious parts-visible grandfather clock. And lines so strangely and surprisingly juxtaposed against each other, yet working somehow in the image and feeling they create. These really are some great poems to read and have storming around inside your head.
