Washington, DC garage band. Anyone living in the Washington, DC area during the mid-sixties can tell you that The Hangmen out-did The Beatles with their hit 'What A Girl Can't Do' . The Beatles had the #2 spot. The Hangmen released an album called 'Bittersweet' which included a new version of 'What A Girl Can't Do'. Sadly, it wasn't as good as the original version. This album includes the song the way they originally recoreded it as The Reekers. This album also includes other bands covering the song. If you are lucky enough to have both albums in CD format, you're a happy person, and have probably the most complete package of music produced by this awesome band. I fall into that category. If you ever find either one of these albums, get them! You won't be sorry.

Great Album! Two versions of "Don't Call Me Flyface!" and 5 killer covers of "What A Girl Can't Do!" by other bands including The Rosslyn Mountain Boys, The Nighthawks, The Lyres, The Slickee Boys, and All Star Canned Heat! The Reekers rock!!!

I am very one sided because I've never not loved What A Girl Can't Do but I was really amazed at the guitar work in this band. The remakes of What A Girl Can't Do are a fantastic added bonus. If your a garage band fan or a rocker who needs a drop kick this is a great CD
