This book shouldn't even be called a book.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
First of all, this book is only 16 pages, and it took me around 2 min. to read!!! Although this book has cool pictures, it leaves out a lot about the Sailor Scouts. I recommend it to only those people that are just learning about Sailor Moon. It briefly explains each characters power and their transformation. The only thing that I like about this book is the pictures. They are really cool, and their are some pictures I've never before seen. Also, this book lacks a page on Sailor Jupiter's and Sailor Venus' (my favorite character) descriptions.

If you like the art of the Sailor Moon anime, get this book,
By Anne Marie (Colorado, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
This is a children's book. Don't expect a lot of mind blowing information. Basically, it includes a brief synopsis of each "scout" and a brief introduction to the series and the magical items used. It is good if you are unfamiliar with the series or if you want a definitive source for the official American information. Actually it is quite similar (albeit much shorter) to the Japanese Sailor Moon anime art books. If you admire the animation in Sailor Moon, there are nice, full color pictures throughout this book which you are sure to enjoy.

This is OK.,
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
This isn't much of a book. It covers only the VERY basic info about Sailor Moon. If you are a true fan, you probably already know 100% of it all! This book is only for newbies who doesn't know what Sailor Moon is. It might be a little helpful then.

Excellent for small children,
By Anna Sartin "Anna Sartin" (Cincinnati, Ohio) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
An excellent book for introducing small children to the world of Sailor Moon. It has large, beautiful pictures that young children will enjoy and want to look at with parents again and again. Adult Sailor Moon fans should note that this product is geared for children 4-8, so it's probably not something that older children or adults will find interesting. For older children I recommend the Sailor Moon chapter books, and kids and adult fans alike should check out the Sailor Moon graphic novels. However, if you have no young children then this isn't the book for you.

Is Meet Sailor Moon worth it?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
The book known as Meet Sailor Moon should be given five stars. It may not be the biggest, longest, or detailed Sailor Moon book but it is a great introduction for newer fans of the series. It has clear, clean, and good anime art of Sailor Moon and the other characters. The descriptions and pictures of each scout is good enough to give a new fan the general idea of their personalities (it would have been better though if the added another page to Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus so then each scout would have an equal amount of pages). The book is about a 15 page book which mainly is for smaller children or newer fans but is still a essential item for any hard core fan or collector. Is Meet Sailor Moon a good enough book for you to buy? It was for me and was already a hard core fan when I got it. (It was a must have for my ever so growing collection.) You make the decision if you are a new fan or a hard core fan who can't get enough of Sailor Moon- no matter what the Sailor Moon merchandise is.

Not worth it,
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
OK. I know some of you may be offended by my rating, so let me explain...Meet Sailor Moon is a good book for children, ages 5-7. (If you're older, try the Sailor Moon Junior Readers.) For others, like me, who are ULTIMATE FANS, this book has no meaning whatsoever. It is around 18 pages long and the descriptions are not detailed! I mean, they leave out the Outer Senshi and Sailor Chibimoon!!! If you REALLY want to check it out, try and find it in a bookstore. Then read it there. I mean, it takes you only 5 minutes at the most. It's better than wasting [$] on a book you'll only read once and then say, "That wasn't very good." Thanks for listening to me explain. consider this before you buy.

Beautiful Drawings, Not Much Info,
By A Customer
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
If you want gorgeous artwork and the basic facts on the main characters of "Sailor Moon," this is a must have! However, if you're already a big fan and want more information than the average Moonie knows, "Meet Sailor Moon" is probably not for you. It's a good introduction to the series and a perfect gift for someone who is just beginning to enjoy the anime phenomenon. Plus, it's got a ton of artwork to look at! /*^_~*\ SM Forever!

cute,but not worth looking for,
By "sugar_is_nice" (canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
If you are a Sailor Moon fan like me,you might be on the lookout for this book, thinking that it will make a good addition to your collection. Well,I hate to say this, but unless you're REALLY obsessed with the show, you might be better off buying something else instead. There is nothing in this book that a Sailor Moon fan wouldn't know already. And it's not a very good introduction for those who don't watch Sailor Moon and would like to know more about it, either...It's not incredibly accurate. Therefore, there is no point in buying Meet Sailor Moon. Its only redeeming qualities are the illustrations. However, they aren't enough to turn this disasterous attempt at writing a book based on the dubbed version of the show into a good novel.

Not what it's cracked up to be,
By Princess Serenity (The Moon Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
HI! I am a huge sailor moon nut and buy what ever i can (that i like) i got this book and all i have to say is that the reseon that page number is not even on the page is because it is only about 10 pages long. sure it is all color and not very expencive but some of the information in it is even wrong. there is about 2 sentances on each page that mainly say: this is a picture of sailor moon. she uses her moon wand to protect the earth. Any fan of sailor moon would know every single word in this book, from the show and all of the pictures you can get from internet web sites if you wanted to. so i do not suggest this book AT ALL!

A pretty good book for new fans,
By "kometsu-chan" (WAshington State) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon (Hardcover)
This short book contains very basic information, but is filled with lots of colorful pictures of the anime. It's a pretty neat book except that it gets boring to look at. You might want it either because you're a new fan of "Sailormoon" and you want the basic information or you just like collecting what ever Sailormoon item you can get or you want to give this to a child. One use for this book(besides viewing it) I can think of is scanning the pictures or something like that.~Kometsu-chan |
