Sailor Moon Scout Guide,
By Andrea (Clare, Michigan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
This is quite a book, with everything you want to know about Sailor Moon. It also introduces the Sailor Moon S series with the new characters like Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Saturn, and eh Sailor Mini moon. It has info on her profile, criteria, battle scenes, transformations, origin, secrets, friends, family, and her past, present, and future life.I'm also surprised to see very unique and lovely pictures in it. It has different song lyrics at the end of the book like "Heart Moving" and "Tuxedo Mirage". It also tells a few other things the dubbed series didn't reveal. In the book she is referred to as "Serena Tsukino".... hmmm... They go very into detail! Actually, Serena is the one one who plays herself when you read the book. She is telling her life to you. Overall, this book is so worth it. I learned quite a bit of new things and it should be on evry collectors shelf. Facts.... just the facts...

Every true SM fan should own the leader's book.,
By Gwenn Cosmis "cardcaptor moon" (the planet cosmos) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
This is probely one of the best Sailor Moon books you can get. Every single page {93 pages in all} has full color. It doesn't matter to me if the book is too young reading level for me, and you shouldn't care anyways cause that's not the point of this book. The point is to give you information about Sailor Moon. And don't think you're wasting your money on this, because you're not. Every penny for this is worth it. Anywho, this book is divided into three parts: 1. Sailor Moon 2. Sailor Moon Episode Best 5 3. Sailor Moon Encyclopedia. Sailor Moon: Sailor Moon Episode Best 5: Sailor Moon Encylopedia:

The Fifth and Final Installment,
By Casey (Binghamton, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
The fifth and final installment of the Sailor Moon Scout Guides by Mixx is by far the best. It follows the same formula as the previous four, but adds a special touch for the title character. I'm not going to give anything away, you'll have to find out for yourself. This book has beautiful pictures from the anime, and lots of information about Sailor Moon. A great book for any SM fan's collection.

Sailor Moon: The Title Character Revealed!!,
By animaniac21285 (Fort Worth, TX, U.S.A.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
I just bought this a few months ago, and boy! was I in for a surprise!! When I first saw this book, I flipped through the pages and I noticed all the cool pics from the anime. It also has some pics from the Japanese version, too! This SM book is really informative. It has many insights into Serena Tsukino's life, her transformations, special fighting moves, fashion, family, and friends. In addition, it features summaries of never-before-seen episodes that only aired in Japan, an encyclopedia full of FAQs, and a couple of lovely poems. But I only gave this book 4 stars for several reasons: 1. It's a bit pricey at a cost of $13.00. 2. The book only covers the first 3 seasons (BSSM, R, and S)and doesn't include Super S and/or Stars. Since, this book was published in America before Super S and Stars had ever reached our shores. 3. The Outer Senshi still have their Japanese names. For example, Sailor Pluto is Setsuna instead of Trista, considering the fact that it's mainly made for the dubbed version. I would think they've gotten names right already. 4. (This refers to No. 3) Some of her attacks are named differently, such as Moon Tiara Action instead of Moon Tiara Magic. But, overall this is a pretty good book that any SM fan would enjoy. I know I have! It's a must-get, must-read, highly recommend book!

I thought this book was wonderful! It has a ton of info abou Serena Tsukino. It had beautiful pictures of her transformations and attacks. I let my friends read it and they said they loved it. I also have the Mars Scout Guide. I think they are both great. I am getting the rest of the Scout Guides. This book is a must-have for any SM(Sailor Moon)fan!

Go Sailor Moon!,

This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
I was really debating whether or not to get this book. A, it was expensive, and B, it didn't look like their was a lot of reading in it. I decided to get it, and I'm glad I did. Since Moon is the most popular of the Sailors, this book is snatched up quickly. I was very happy with the book. It had facts on Serena and her alter-ego, Sailor Moon, 50 secrets (faves, stats, friends, etc.), A guide to the 5 best Sailor Moon epsodes, A Sailor Moon encyclopedia, A transformation gallery (many nice pics in it), A guide to friends and family, Her famous lines, famous battles, and two poems/illustrations. This book has tons and tons of colored pictures, many of them funny and cute. You get to know Sailor Moon according to Serena herself, so its funny. If you like Sailor Moon, you are sure to like this. Something else about this book: I didn't know a ton about Sailor Moon, so this book was very imformative.

The BEST Sailor Moon book of them all!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
I thought this book was the best Sailor Moon book published since they started publishing Sailor Moon manga comics. Reason being is that this book is full of bright colored and detailed pictures. It shows Sailor Moon at her best page by page. The only complaint that anyone could possibly have about the book is that it only covers 3 seasons it goes up to Sailor Moon S so it doesn't give you any info on the other seasons such as SuperS and Stars. Overall the book is still extremely fun to read and extremely informative ! It also makes a great collecter item or just a fun easy novel to read for any age group.

Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
This book is all about Usagi Tsukino (Serena), who is Sailor Moon!
It has: A comic about how Usagi became Sailor Moon Usagi's family Usagi's three transformations: Prism Power,Crystal Power, and Cosmic Power Usagi's superpowers and wands Usagi's fashion scrapbook 5 Sailor Moon comic stories from the show Information about the moon 50 questions and Usagi's answers Pictures of the other Sailor Soldiers (Sailor Scouts) Usagi's other friends Poems and more! They should also make guides for Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Saturn, Chibi-Usa, and Tuxedo Mask. I would buy them. P.S. You can learn the same things from watching the anime or reading manga #10 (in the back of the book), and I do know the things this book shows, but I read it a lot, and all the other guides, so I'd still recommend it. P.P.S. These books are kind of more for teenagers than kids. In Sailor Jupiter's book, there was a picture by one of the poems where she was naked. (You just saw her back though.) There may be more stuff like that in these books. All the Sailor Soldiers are naked when they're transforming, so you might not want younger children to read this. Other than that, it's okay for kids, but some of the stories might scare them sometimes. P.P.P.S. They need to make a DVD of Sailor Moon Stars, one of the ones in Japanese with whatever they're saying in English at the bottom of the screen. I've read two Sailor Moon StarS books and I want to see the show. A lot of other people do too. And they shouldn't change it or anything.

I don't think Naoko Takeuchi has ever been involved in something I didn't like. As for "Meet Sailor Moon," I have to say I enjoyed it. It has all the little bits of information you never learn on the show or in the comics. Plus, there are great pics from the show and tons of great quotes.

A Little Bit More,
By
This review is from: Meet Sailor Moon: Crystal (Paperback)
It's obvious that because Sailor Moon is the star of the show, more work and information was put into this book then the others. You can tell by the way the title is written in gold letters that reflect rainbow colors that it is special. Besides being about the star, this book is also the last Scout Guide. There are, of course, more transformations and attacks for Sailor Moon because she has developed more over the seasons. I still think the pictures showing her transformations, attacks, episodes, etc. could have been better organized, and made to be easier to follow for the main audience these Scout Guides should be targeting, new Sailor Moon fans who want to learn more about the anime show that has quickly become their favorite. Long-time, die hard fans will find the Scout Guides to be boring, because most of the pictures and information is taken from the TV series and movies. But even though I am a long time fan, I still missed the first few seasons of the show, and enjoy easy reads, so I like the Scout Guides. I randomly flip to certain pages and read, or compare the pictures with those of other Scout Guides. I personally think this is an interesting book for any Sailor Moon fan, but if you're a huge fan expecting exclusive information, you might be buying this book for the wrong reason.
CAUTION: This book contains very mature content. To parents looking into this book for their children, this is not a childrens' book! If I remember correctly, it is sold in the young adult section of bookstores, and is not meant to be read by children under twelve or thirteen. |
