Gorooh-e Mastan Founded in 2005 by Parvaz Homay, The Mastan Group has become one of the prominent - traditional Persian music - ensemble from Iran. Only in his 20's, Homay is part of a very special group of Musicians who writes his own lyrics, composes, sings, produces and mixes his music in Iran. His ensemble consists of eight highly proficient Iranian musicians. These young spiritual and talented Artists transmit their message of truth and unity through novel lyrics and music. They achieve this by refreshing the traditional and folkloric music and introducing a groundbreaking interpretation of classical Persian music and poetry. They share the universal idea of striving for a creative life by flourishing love and peace from within.

5.0 out of 5 stars Modern Khayyam & Hafiz on Stage, September 22, 2008
This review is from: Meeting With Doozakhian (DVD)
If one would like masters of Sufis and their poems and poetries. And if one enjoys Rumi's songs and his style of poetry, Homay's art work is for you. This younger version of Omar Khayyam is an incredible artist, musician, and poet. His traditional Iranian music is beautifully infused with the musics' of neighboring countries in a subtle way, such as Azeri, Turkish, India and others. I believe he has a great future. Not to exaggerate, he is perhaps reincarnation of Khayyam who has a massage for all mankind and his songs arise from the heart and settles on passionate hearts. But to my dismay so far it has been extremely difficult to find DVD's or recorded CD's of his concerts, except from UTube.

Something new, innovative and yet traditional. The music reflects the traditional Iranian chamber music in its best.
