More About the Author

Osho, known for his revolutionary contribution to the science of inner transformation, continues to inspire millions of people worldwide in their search to define a new approach to individual spirituality that is self-directed and responsive to the everyday challenges of contemporary life. The Sunday Times of London named him one of the '1,000 Makers of the Twentieth Century,' and novelist Tom Robbins called him 'the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ.' For more information about Osho and his work, please visit osho.com.

Osho's teachings defy categorization, covering everything from the individual quest for meaning to the most urgent social and political issues facing individuals and society today.

His unique "Osho Active Meditations" are designed to first release the accumulated stresses of body and mind, so that it is easier to experience the thought-free and relaxed state of meditation. (Meditation -The First and Last Freedom, by Osho)

About his own work Osho has said that he is helping to create the conditions for the birth of a new kind of human being. He has often characterized this new human being as "Zorba the Buddha" -- capable both of enjoying the earthy pleasures of a Zorba the Greek and the silent serenity of a Gautam Buddha.

Running like a thread through all aspects of Osho's work is a vision that encompasses both the timeless wisdom of the East and the highest potential of Western science and technology.

Osho has been described by the Sunday Times in London as one of the "1000 Makers of the 20th Century" and by American author Tom Robbins as "the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ."

Osho gives his own take on some of the most famous mystics of all time and what he says about each of these extraordinary men and women makes you want to read more and more about them. His interpretation of their lives
may even be more interesting than what is already known about these extraordinary people. Certainly, his
understanding of the life and death of Jesus is radically different from any other interpretation. It will stir you to your depths.

Meetings with remarkable people by Osho was a wonderful book I have read in recent time. 19 great personalities, like Bodhidharma, Buddha, Krishna, Lao Tzu, Rumi and Socrates life and incidents are very well described by Osho in a stylish way make this book as treasurer. History was useless said Osho. Knowing Alexander, Napoleon and Genghis Khan was utter waste. They can't do anything to human consciousness. We can not follow these historical persons but our real followers are Buddha, Krishna and as such.

As for as Osho was concerned the History does not reveal anything to such great personalities. They can look like only Mythological characters. So we teach our children history and not Mythology. We teach them arithmetic not poetry. But these are the persons who are the real foundations of human consciousness. History is dead but mythology is for ever. So knowing these wonderful persons are worth much more than historical ones.

Read this book was a great experience. Not only those who are interested in spiritual but others also read this book with great joy and pleasure. Watking Publishing published this books very good in print and paper. Those who are not yet read this book grab it and enjoy the pleasure of good reading.
