At this point in the story, it's been about a month since Lan and Megaman's encounter with the nefarious Net Mafia Gospel, and a new semester at school is about to start. When Lan and his classmates are invited to the seemingly innocent net battler Semi-Finals at ACDC Square, little do they know that a new, incredibly evil plan is about to be hatched!
The most exciting addition to the game, hands down, is that you can now make your own Megaman with segments of code that you gather throughout the game. Watch out, though: Do it badly, and you can get a buggy program. In addition to programming your own Megaman, you can still change Megaman's battle styles (just like in Battle Network 2). The end result is the best character creation system on a handheld.
In a homage to the Pokemon games, there is both a White and Blue version of Megaman Battle Network 3. The game is more or less the same, but there are unique cards, styles, and programs for each version--which makes trading and battling via link cable a real incentive.
In short, Megaman Battle Network 3 is one of the best RPG's for the GBA, and is appropriate for all ages. Fans of traditional Megaman games will also like the live action battles. -Bryan Karsh

At first, I was a bit skeptic of the BN series. I like all the other megaman series, but I saw megaman BN and didn't know what to think. At first it seemed to different, but while talking to other Megaman community members, they convinced me into trying it. I bought this one because it was the cheapest I could find. I was extremely impressed with the cool action sequences and good storyline. The play is really addictive. I never care for graphics, but if you really are a visomaniac, I suppose you might not like them.
In all: play: 5 stars replayability: 5 stars frustration: next to none (4 stars) graphics: (NA) Price: 4 stars = 4 1/2 enjoy!

Latest and Greatest,

The latest installment in Mega Man Battle Network series has arrived! Like the first two, the game is filled with plenty of fun, Virus Busting, battles. The gameplay is fairly simple and easy to understand making it easy for beginners to jump right in, but the game also holds a great depth of complexity for Battle Network veterans. Three new style types, Shadow, Ground, and Bug, join the first four types added in the second game, allowing for an even greater level of personalization. Shadow and Ground, however, will never been seen together, except in a Game-Link Battle - for Shadow is unique to one version of Battle Network, while Ground is found in the other. Also added is the 'Navi Customizer', a special device that can upgrade Megaman's capabilities even beyond a basic Style. Triping over holes in the ground? Use an Airshoes upgrade, and no ground is no problem. Enemy shields stopping your attacks? Equip a breaker upgrade and watch your buster shots rip right through. Piece together your upgrades in the right places, however, or your upgrades will backfire, attracting viruses, shooting flowers, or even crippling your ability to use chips!

I've never played any of the other games in the Battle Network series but as a occasional Mega Man fan, and with the recent price drop i decided to try it, and so far i haven't been dissapointed.Overall the battle system is very enjoyable. I've never been a big fan of the whole card based combat (I.E. Pokemon) but i have the say that with the often intense real time combat the card based combat makes for a great blend of real time strategy. I've always enjoyed tactical RPGs such as Final Fantasy Tactics but occasionally games like that can get a little boring. So for me Mega Man Battle Network brings a great change of pace to a genre i've always loved. If strategy games aren't really your thing then you probably want to look elsewhere.(The recently released MegaMan anniversary collection would be a better recomendation) If you want to be successful your going to have to spend some time restructuring your card folder and doing some other sometimes tedious tasks. The storyline also will turn off some gamers. The main characters are all elementery school children - and most of the plot lines, while usually interesting, involes stuff such as class fieldtrips ect. If you feel you can overlook the sometimes tedious gameplay and often childish plotline then by all means pick up a copy, it's definately an enjoyable game and i'm sure it won't be the last one i pick up in the series.
