Story

Long ago, two ancient creatures with unimaginable power ravaged the net. These two behemoths, called "Cybeasts," clashed with such force that they changed the virtual landscape forever. One Cybeast embodied the form of a vicious wolf and the other was a ferocious bird with razor sharp claws and immense wings. After their last known battle, they fell into a deep slumber in a giant crater called the Underground...until now. Through the actions of a mysterious foe, they have been awakened and unleashed upon the net. Mega Man is able to intervene and manages to successfully contain one of the beasts within him.

When Mega Man defeats a "Link Navi" he will gain its Cross ability, which he can then use in battle. Cross abilities can be quite useful, but each has a weakness.

The "Beast Out" system hinges from Mega Man’s absorption of the powerful Cybeasts. Mega Man can use a monster’s power during battle to boost his speed, rapidly fire Buster shots, double a Battle Chip’s attack power, and more. While a Cross is equipped, Mega Man can also Beast Out, combining the forces of these two systems to maximize the power of the Crosses even further. Overusing the Beast Out system will quickly fatigue Mega Man, though.

Distinct features for Cybeast Gregar and Cybeast Falzar:

  • Five distinct Link Navis aid Mega Man in each version, for a total of 10
  • Assorted Battle Chips for each version
  • Combinations of Cross and Beast Out systems vary between the two versions
  • With unique powers and different enemies in each game, players will have to mount different strategies to win

5.0 out of 5 stars The final MMBN Saga, July 9, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar (Video Game)
Actually, I have Cybeast Falzar. However, it isn't that different than it's canine counterpart. The few differences include the navis, the giga chips, and the final bosses. Also there are two break navis in Falzar, and two fire navis in Gregar. Here are the following navis for each version:

Falzar:
SpoutMan (Water)
TamahawkMan (Wood)
TenguMan (Wind)
GroundMan (Break)
DustMan (Break)

Gregar:
HeatMan (Fire)
ElecMan (Elecric)
SlashMan (Sword)
EraseMan (Cursor)
ChargeMan (Fire)

Hopefully that will aid in the choosing of your version.

Well, here's the basic story. The game starts out with... the Hikari family moving! Yes, our hero's family moves to a new town called Cyber City. He has to deal with making friends, going to school, and getting used to his new house. A few happenings later, Megaman finds himself face to face with a cybeast! One of the cybeasts is absorbed into Megaman (Although I'm not telling you why.) and that cybeast would be, of course, the cybeast of the verion that you are currently playing! You eventualy get to utalize their powers, althought they're very similar. This might just be the best (and sadly the last) installation of the Megaman Battle Network series. I reccomend it, especially if you are a fan of the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Last game in the MMBN series., July 17, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar (Video Game)
Well, this is it. The final MMBN game. Now before you utterly cry like a little 3-year candy-obessessed kid, this series is pretty much overlooked by the mainstream gamers. Fighting on a 3x3 grid may seem unappealing to those not familar with the series, but rest assured that is it indeed fairly easy and-hard-to-master mechanic will keep players hooked. In addition, this game introduces two new cybeats, gregar and falzar to the scenario. While some may think that Mega Man is now spamming the market with wave after wave of games, they are doing it for a reason because people love Mega Man. Go play this game and series and find out for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars MegaMan Battle Network 6: Cyberbeast Gregar, January 13, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar (Video Game)
Let me start by saying I'm a MegaMan.EXE/NT Warrior fanatic and this isn't my first Battle Network game. I've owned every one and this is by far the coolest one.

MegaMan.EXE returns! This time he deals with the Cyberbeasts, a wolf-like behemoth named Gregar and a falcon-esque behemoth named Falzar. Battle Network 6 (or BN6 for short) is a fun filled game for those experienced in the MegaMan Battle Network series. The bosses and viruses here are a little tougher than past games and some of the tasks take time and patience, but it's still the best one yet.

The storyline is very coherent and adds to the themes present in BN6. It took me a few spread out days to beat this game, but it is very rewarding and fun to play repeatedly.

Hopefully Capcom decides to return to the Battle Network series and make a Battle Network 7, but that's unlikely.

Recomended to new and old fans!
