I bought this set for Christmas and hadn't checked on any reviews prior to buying it. When I finally meandered over here and read all the negative reviews I got worried. I had my husband open up the warrior fortress and build it to see if any of the reviews held true for us. They didn't and don't.

My husband and I suspect perhaps people that had problems with mega blok are those that have never built with them before and are simply used to Legos. They are not lego's don't expect them to be. They are mega bloks and are a little harder to snap together than legos are. We have had mega bloks in the past so this was not something that shocked us.

My husband put the warrior fortress together in an hour. I watched him do it while I assembled the men and various other small things. The directions we not difficult they just took a few moments to get used to.

As for it's strength, I can tell you that since my husband built it last week it's still standing in my closet (we decided to just keep it built and surprise my son on Xmas morning with it covered up somewhere). Now I go in and out of my closet several times a day and in doing so I've knocked it about, ran into it and tossed some stuff on top of it. It's still standing. Not one piece has rattled or fell off.

My son is going to be absolutely delighted with this. The dragons alone are worth the price they are HUGE!

It is almost impossible for children under 10 to assemble these pieces. The included directions are very poor and do not not even display or mention some of the smallest pieces. If the children actually play with them instead of just building them, the small pieces fall apart easily. The age limit is 8 on up, but it is definitely more suited for 12 or above.

Although the castle looks cool it is a piece of garbage! The pieces do not stay together - the instructions are horrible! My husband spent hours gluing the pieces together just so the kids could at least play with it. I've already warned my boys that this is the last Megablocks product we will EVER buy!

My 9 year old son enjoys the Dragon Mega Bloks Series...he had no problems with the directions or putting this set together...did it without help...Instructions seem very clear...We have had no problem with it staying together...we have enjoyed researching the Medieval Times together...we have the complete set of these and it looks great all together...Him and his friends have alot of fun with these...It is a nice change from the "other" blocks (which we have hundreds of) that are on the market...the price is great too...We did have a issue with another Mega Bloks set...a military set...Mega Bloks got us the replacement part...customer service was wonderful...they back their products...Best of Luck in your purchase!

Although my three boys were very excited about this set when we got it, the excitment quickly wore off, the set was next to impossable to build, and when you do get it to fit together (after hours of cursing under your breath, and pitching parts against the wall), it fell apart at the slightest touch, causing tears from my seven year old. I would not recomnd it for kids under the age of at least 13 to 14.

My 9 year old son loves building, and was so excited to get this for his birthday.

Unfortunately, just as other parents have attested, the pieces just won't stay together, not just when you are playing with it, but when you are trying to BUILD it.

This is the first time he has ever given up on putting anything together, and that's saying a lot.

I own all the "Dragons" and "Dragons Krystal Wars" sets that our out on the market. When it comes to medieval knight and dragons with castles and fortresses, no one has produced better than Mega Bloks. Much cheaper than Lego, but every bit as fun and durable. Excellent customer service on replacement parts for broke, missing or other wise. I highly recommend these products to collector and child builder alike.

I got this for Christmas from my grandma, it is the Warriors Fortress and the Dragon Slayer. Now I'm a big fan of Fantasy creatures and Warriors and Dragons and I love this set because it has many of the things I like like Dragons, a castle, Warriors and siege weapons that work. The other thing I really like about the castle is that all of the blocks characters and landscapes are really realistic. This toy is so entertaining and I play with it for hours, I quite like it. But there are a few issues with the sets though, they are, like when you are building the castle like other customers I to think that the peices don't snap in to well or usually are very hard to snap together, another issue is that they shouldn't have two or more seperate pieces of land to build on, another thing is the instructions are really hard to read also they should have platforms for the men to stand on (or just build your own, that works to.)Some Improvements they could make are, Put in more warriors without having to buy more seperatly so the customer would get a greater sense of battle, put floors on the walls so the customer could have battles on the walls, spare weapons would be good, one I would think would be better would be other characters like Orcs, Elves, Dwarves, Wargs (Orcs ride them) and other creatures, extra blocks (The customer may want to add on to the castle)But Altogether it's a great toy and I love it's real durable and other kids would love it to.

I was very excited when I purchased the entire "Dragons" set for my step-son's 7th birthday. We purchased the Liar, the Castle, the Sorceror's stone, the Dragon Slayer, and the extra men. After two adults and one child spent about 2 1/2 hours putting it all together our hands hurt because we had to work so hard to get the pieces to click together (some of the pieces still weren't together well). The quality is definately not as good as LEGOS, but the creativity makes up for the difference.
We left the set up for about 3 weeks and he didn't want to play with anything else. He used a lot of imagination and made up stories about the men and the dragons. I would reccommend buying some sort of container to keep all of the pieces in.
Overall, this is a great buy for the price and it is worth having to do repair every once in a while (and you will have to repair it).
He's begging us to put it up again. My husband and I are excited to do it because we had fun with it too.

I got this set as a gift, along with a couple of the other sets. I had a hard time getting everything to get together, but once it was together, it was not too bad. I love dragons, and that is the main reason that I asked for the set. I placed them on the coffee table in the living room, and I set up a nice battle field setting. It looks nice, but I am not sure how it would stand up to abuse. The working seige equipment is also really cool. All in all, knowing the price and everything, I think that it is worth it.
