Mega Bloks P-51 MUSTANG Vintage WWII Airplane

This model is excellent and super well detailed. I bought this model for my son who is a 20 year old college student and is an airplane enthuasist and he loved it. Here is more what he said about the model than me.

The P-51 by Mega Bloks is a super model at a cheap price, I suspect a model from Lego would be 20 to 30 dollars more at least. The plane is well detailed and cosmetically looks like a P-51, the engine covers pop off to reveal the giant V-12 motor. Overall a great model.

There were a few little complaints though, one is that the wing is very hard to get onto the plane correctly and secure it. A few extra bracing parts may help if you have extra blocks. also the decals are positioned wrong, as US Army Air Force call letters were not reveresed but stayed in the same place on both sides of the plane. The letters should read on the one side MB P and on the other P MB. My only other problem with this set was the landing gear does not look like the real plane. But these are minor complaints, and overall this is the best Lego type model I have seen recently dealing with airplanes

I bought this for my father as a Father's day present. It took about 4 hours to build and looks great. Blocks snap together tight for fairly durable use. I have a 3 year old who put it to the test with no permanent damage. I have many of the Probuilder models and like them all

Well I just got this toy really because I wanted to just build something. It was my first Megablocks set and when I finished I thought it was amazing! At first I thought that megablocks would be bad but boy was I wrong. Its cheap it may not be that durable mainly because of the wing and wheels but either way I thought it was great and I think that I'll start getting more of them. I hope this will let you know that megablocks isn't that much worse than lego and with a cheaper price it's well worth the money.

I loved this toy so much when it was finally done. I had a great time building the model. When it was all done, it looked like the actual WWII plane although smaller. The rudders, elevators, and flaps work beautifully! I'd reccommend this kit to anyone who loves fighter planes. It's GREAT!!

I have all of the Mega Bloks Probuilder series. And I just got this one in the mail. when i got it i put it together in about 2 hours. it is one of the biggest scale models I have. the only downer is that the wing has a hard time staying on to the body . you really have to push hard. other than that i really liked this one. I would reccomend this for ages 12 and up. just a little to complicated.

My son has built many of the probuilder series and this one is as good as the rest. It is actually nicer and more substantial than I thought based upon the packaging. My son (8 years old but pretty experienced at building these, set is good for ages higher than that for sure) was quite excited with this one. He spent an hour and a half on the net researching P-51 Mustangs after building it. We even watched a vintage P-51 airforce training video available on the net (about 35 minutes long).

Wing flaps, tail fin, propellor and the dome over the cockpit are all moveable. Only weakness is the strength of the attachment of the main wing to the plane but it is not bad enough to lower my overall opinion. As usual, the megabloks brand is better quality, better design and better price than their very well known competitor. The great instruction manuals are whet really makes Megabloks superior to Lego for the kids completing the models. Bargain for the current sale price and not too bad for the $39 list price.

I just finished putting it together, and this is one really nice building toy. Only one minor problem I encountered was keeping the wing assembly attached, but other than that, it builds nice, easy to follow instuctions, looks great on display. Perfect for model builders who dont want to play with paint and glue. I wouldnt recommend playing with it, it will eventually fall apart, unless thats your intention, a "crash" into the floor would look spectacular, and then you can have the joy of rebuilding it all over again!!! Great FATHER-SON project too.

The P51 Mustang is a very nice model. While it looks almost like the real thing, it's flying ability is somewhat lacking. The only way we could get the model to stay airborn more than five seconds was to strap several bottle rockets to the wings. After that, the plane flew really well......for a short time. The detonation of the bottle rockets proved to be somewhat devastating to the overall structure of the plane. We suggest making the model out of either stronger plastic, or possibly even lightweight aluminum pieces. Perhaps that would solve the problem of plastic shrapnel. We gave it an overall of four stars because with a little motivation, it is a great flyer. It doesn't land so well, though.
