My six year old son loves construction toys and the Mega Bloks ProBuilder Series is one of his favorites. I've been disappointed, however, by how often he notes that "the Mega Bloks are the ones that don't stick together very well." Given the fact that we purchased a large number of the kits at closeout sales this isn't a problem, they're not expensive.

However, If I consider the amount of time he spends playing with these types of toys (both Lego and Mega Bloks), the pleasure he gets from them, and the the educational value, then I can easily justify the additional cost of Legos.

Bottom line: Mega Bloks are okay, but the Legos are a much better value.

The aircraft carrier is a really nice model. My favorite thing about it is its size. It is huge! What I also like is its small price. Compared to models from LEGO, this one is much more affordable. Overall it is a great buy.

I believe this item is the biggest model Mega Bloks ever made, released in 2005, and since it is no longer made that has a direct effect on price. You can only buy this from collectors or rare toy shows, but naturally Amazon has everything for sale. You may also get a decent price from used or new 3rd party sellers but check the shipping price before you buy.

This model is part of the Mega Bloks "ProBuilders" series, so this is for those that are interested in building something big and complicated. I believe this is the biggest model Mega Bloks makes for their outstanding military ProBuilders series. The "9795 USS NIMITZ WAR SHIP" is accurate in its details, colors, fit and finish. The instructions were clear and all the right pieces fir where they were supposed to. Like the pros the build Lego toys, it is recommended that you use drops of glue to keep the model together while you build to make a stronger finished product. All the parts are included, with a few spares. For display purposes, it has hidden wheels on the underside to make it easier to relocate or move for dusting. The model is durable once completed. The aircraft elevators move up and down, and it is designed so that you can actually store the aircraft in the ship.
SIZE: this thing truly is a monster, weighing a whopping 8 pounds, with 1,400 pieces. It is a yard long, yes 36" in length when finished!
DETAILS: It has eight F-14 jets; 2 aircraft elevators; SAM missile cannons; control tower; aircraft runways; sticker/decals (they give you extra); directional lights; backwash flaps, and more.

This U.S. Nimitz ProBuilder aircraft carrier is a real challenge to build, and very rewarding to display if you can finish this monster. For more rare models form Probuilders, see the USS Kittyhawk or the Seawolf submarine.

The model was not difficult is put together if you follow the directions exactly.

WEll i dont think burning a ship would be a great idea. Why buy it and then burn it? Well I was about to buy this toy and then thought it would be just like the kitty hawk so hard to put together. I agree the decks are not bad looking but I hope they are not like the kitty hawk. I think the elevators look better than the kitty hawk so might get this one. Legos are so cool to put together and I bet if this was lego it would cost more money than it is posted here.
I would also get is if i had the space.
