This review is from: Mega Bloks Pyrates - Fort Defiance (Toy)
I purchased this for my 7 yr old son who has had many of the Pyrates toys over the years. They are no longer available in the local stores here in SC, actually I think they have stopped making the toys completely (bummer). Hours of fun and amusement keeps him away from the tv and video games. Like all mega bloks, you have to be careful with them or they fall apart easily. Best if played with on a "hard" surface vs. plush carpeting. It's a real shame that they have discontinued making these toys. Hours of fun for both him and his friends.

This product is lots of fun. My child is a big fan of the Pyrates, and this is a nice addition to the collection.

The marketing of these toys seems to outperform the toys themselves. Our 6 year old boy wanted this (asked when he was 5) when he was in to the Pyrates. He had quite of few of the sets already when he got this and he played with it the least of them all. Could be he's moving on which seems to be how he is with toys (and his siblings and friends), but it seemed he never spent much time with these toys. First of all, I assembled them all. I'm not complaining about that, the age rating is higher than his age. Still, he kept wanting the next one because of its unique features yet after a couple of hours with it, it went to the toy room and the toy pile. He would then begin to look for another one. In summary, although he did get excited about them when they arrived, it seemed he was more into collecting them than playing with them.
