Not what I expected.,
By A. Estes (Maine) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mega Kung Fu Radio (Audio CD)
First off, I'll admit, I was one of the people who bought Tonight the Stars Revolt first. But then I was flipping through CD's at Circuit City and I came across this. I always knew it had existed but it had been so hard for me to find a copy. Well needless to say, this is NOTHING like TTSR. It is a fun blend of Rap/Metal/funk. This could of been the band to ruin Kid Rock's career. But, their new sound is just as welcome. favorite songs are: Organizized, Car Crash, Neckbone, Earth Vs. Me, 20 Miles To Texas, 25 To Hell, and Tokyo Vigilante No 1. Buy this cd if you are a fan of White Zombie or eben the "new" Powerman 5000. This is quite a gem to have.

While I admit that I bought this cd sans hearing it, due to Spider being Rob's bro, I soon forget the connection entirely. PM5K are different from Rob's projects in so many ways, while the influence can still be picked out. This has easily become one of my favourite albums of all time. I like this band so much, I named my fantasy wrestler after them.

Simply flat-out awesome!,

This CD is great! I bought their new album, Tonight The Stars Revolt! and thought it was awesome. Then I bought True Force and this one, and thought they were both awesome. The music is very original, with a direct combination of rap, funk, and hard rock in every song. The best songs are Public Menace, Freak, Human Fly; Organizized; Car Crash; Earth vs. Me; Tokyo Vigilante #1; and Standing 8. There's also a hidden track called File Under Action after Even Superman Shot Himself. Public Menace, Freak, Human Fly is the best song on the album. The lyrics are funny and the chorus is really thrashy. This CD is cool as it addresses various fictious and factual topics such as superheroes, Asia, global chaos, circus freaks, maniacs, car crashes, shark attacks, and other things. I'm actually starting to like PM5K's action rock style more than their disco metal style that they show in the new album. Don't expect this album to be exactly like Tonight The Stars Revolt, but it is still worth the buy!
