5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality. The kids love these!
If you are looking for a magnet toy....Mega Magz is the only way to go. We've tried different brands. They are cheap & fall apart & can be dangerous if you have little ones around & the magnet falls out. We ended up throwing them away!! The Mega Magz are comparable in price & seem to last forever. Never have had a magnet fall out or anything break. Had them for...

3.0 out of 5 stars missing central pieces
We had received a smaller set of Magz as a gift and it keeps my 8 year old busy building different structures, so I purchased this mega set because she asked for more pieces. There are 3 types of pieces: straight rods; magnetic balls and fixed "x"s which are used as supports for attachment. This set DOES NOT contain any of those central pieces at all, which severely...

This is a great toy. It will attract both kids and adults. Also, the magnets are strong enough to build fairly complex structures.

Unfortunately for this product, I already have a set of MagnetiX (which are hard to find (or too expensive) because of a recall). My daughter wanted more magnets to add to her set. She was limited by the small quantity of MagnetiX we have. When I saw these Magz, I thought they would be great to add to her collection. I should not have assumed they would be the same quality of toy. The Magnets are weaker, the balls are smaller, the bars are thiner but slightly longer and made of cheaper material, and the toy just doesn't seem to be the same quality. I bought these as a Christmas present. Not sure if I will keep them. I can't test them out on my daughter as I don't want to give the surprise away. She may like them, who knows.

Despite the bad press lately about swallowed magnets and the possible intestinal problems they can cause, for older children not in the habit of eating their toys this is great fun, portable, and fuels the imagination.

I bought this for my 5 year old nephew...but the adults play with it all the time. Its durable though the smaller set is really not enough. You need more and more pieces because the shapes just keep getting bigger...

Saw it in a friend's house and got one for my son. The kid loves it. Some of the balls are not well made. Still work though.

I bought this toy to have fun with my son, age 5.

The magnets are very powerful for their size. Grabbing for a few of them at one time is next to impossible as all the pieces try to join in the fun. We bought a box with compartments for sorting the pieces, and while this helps when starting the building process, it takes a long time to separate them out afterwards.

The instructions include a few pictures of structures that can be built, but no step by step instructions. I can't find step by step instructions on the web either, just single images. My son general makes long chains right now. I've figured out how to make most of the structures, but I don't believe I am the target audience.

Some of the pieces survived being "stolen" by a cat, which is good, but it's likely that the balls will eventually be lost based on our experiences -- they sometimes go flying when you try to detach them from the stick magnets.

This toy might be better suited to an older child, perhaps 7+.

My son has had this for a couple of years now. It is a good basic set, and he has been able to design some really amazing structures. Easy to use at a young age, too--he was about four when he got it and still uses it. However, the small parts are easy to lose and then there is not much left to work with.

I bought this toy to understand atomic structures. It was extremely useful and helped me alot. I reccomand this product to those who want to have a deep understanding of spacial symmetry and structures that are difficult to recognize on paper. The product is not very durable but it is easy to be just a little accurate and get a good result
