The game contains more than 100 possible Noise Change transformations, which adds to the depth and diversity of gameplay. In addition, Mega Man Star Force 3 will be available in the Red Joker game variety. Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker is an entirely separate game, with its own 100 unique Noise Change transformation variants.

The Story
In Mega Man Star Force: Black Ace, players travel between the physical world and the digital world via electromagnetic waves that form wave roads. Geo Stelar, the protagonist of the game, can see these wave roads through usage of his unique visualiser tool. Once in the digital world, Geo can merge with the electronic life-form known as Omega-Xis to become Mega Man. And Mega Man's help is definitely needed. The wave roads are being overrun, systems are going out of control and viruses are increasing in aggressiveness due to the mysterious noise, generated by Meteor G, an approaching gigantic asteroid. Something must be done about this threat to both the physical and digital worlds of Mega Man Star Force 3. Fortunately, Mega Man discovers that as dangerous as the noise is, he can also control it using the new Noise Change system to transform into Black Ace form.

Gameplay
As in the previous games, Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace is a unique blend of action and role-playing game (RPG), combining the high intensity combat that is the hallmark of Mega Man games with Star Force’s strategic battle system. The game's action unfolds in an episodic fashion, with players exploring, collecting items, and defeating enemies to progress the story. When enemies and bosses are defeated players are awarded "battle cards" that enhance and evolve Mega Man’s abilities and attacks.

Red Joker Game Integration
Black Ace is only half of the Mega Man Star Force 3 experience. The story and action are integrated with the game's companion release, also for Nintendo DS, Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker. Black Ace players with friends who own Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker can share unique items and powers back and forth by utilizing the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, thereby enhancing their individual characters and digging deeper into each game.

Key Features

  • Game in two coexisting worlds as you explore the real world in human form and transform into Mega Man to maneuver through the virtual "Wave World."
  • The main theme is 'Noise' and during battle the Noise Ratio is indicated on the screen. The Noise Ratio increases in different situations. As the Noise Ratio increases there are different effects.
  • Cyber battles feature an immersive third person view as players engage enemies in a 3x5 battle grid.
  • Cards now stack and are scattered randomly. Only the top card can be used when stacked. Mega-class and Giga-class cards have greater surface areas and are more likely to stack.
  • There are more than 100 Mega Man transformations possible by utilizing "Noise Change."
  • Each character has their own customizable personal page in the game where Battle Cards and information can be viewed and traded with friends to compare progress.
  • Black Ace features the ability to share content wirelessly via a Nintendo Wi-Fi connection with its companion DS game, Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker, extending gaming possibilities, as well as adding hours of play time to the title.
  • Online multi-cartridge multiplayer support options.

MEGAMAN STARFORCE 3
Blackace/Redjoker

It is an okay game. Like the games before it, it has its own fighting style. It may seem boring going only side-to-side but it has fast action and a good story and is somewhat addictive. You just have to know what will happen next. [Even though the name is a little misleading considering that the Blackace and Redjoker are never mentioned and are mandatory in the game after it's possible to go it before, it is still a good game.] No matter what, Capcom never fails to surprise me. I give it an 8 out of 10. If you're a Megaman fan, this is a game for you.

As a fan of the Starforce series as a whole I can say that this was no disapointment. Fun gameplay, excellent story telling, and the familiar structures that I've come to know and love about the Megaman series were still there.
In all this game is just what I expected from Capcom, +A.

As a long-time fan of Megaman Battle Network, I recently got majorly into the Starforce series in hopes that it would be at least slightly like its ancestor. Jumping from the Gameboy Advance straight to the Nintendo DS, I discovered that, despite a few things I could nitpick about for a few hours, the Starforce series did a pretty swell job of retaining the crown of Nintendo DS ARPG's. And hey, what better way to cap off your series with a game that completely and utterly blows away the other ones? Brace yourselves for the end of a series that brought me an unbelievable amount of closure as we jump right into the final installment: Megaman Starforce 3, the Black Ace version!

STORY: 9/10
For the most part, the story could be considered generic, but if you've played the other games in the series before this, you know why. It continues from where the second game left off, in an age where technology has practically reached its peak. With the introduction of Wizards and EM Beings now known all throughout the world, people are learning to live more decent and wonderful lives with these digitized beings as both partners and friends in everyday activity. However, an evil organization that simply goes by the name of Dealer intends to bring about the destruction of this mechanical society, utilizing the power of an unknown and mysterious crystallized substance called "Crimson" to bring about the restoration of a mighty red star shining in the deepest parts of space, threatening to consume the entire world whole. Now, Megaman and gang have one last battle to win, and it will determine the very future of every single life on Earth. The story's severity starts off slightly meager, but as you make your way through the game, it becomes more grievous and substantial.

If you're a fan of Megaman Starforce, you should have this by now. This is the 3rd installment of the series, and as of currently seems to be the last. It has its roots from the Megaman Battle Network series (storyline is around 200 years after) so if you ever played any of those games as well, it will have a familiar feel. My take on the Starforce series is Starforce >>>>>>>>>> Battle Network.

-The battles are in 3X5 3D perspective which I find quite enjoyable and am a fan of.

-The storyline has been refined in each consecutive game, with this one based on technological advances, space, and playing cards.

-The characters have a lot more personalities and they feel more alive (probably taking ideas from the anime show that's based off the series) and not static as was in the first game.

-The most definitive feature that stands out in this installment is noise form changes. Cool by design, cool in action. The unfortunate thing about the noise change system is that one cannot freely change noise forms, but it is an random event triggered by chance WARNING battles. Other then that I think it is pretty well executed.

Overall, I would highly recommend this title to anyone who is a Megaman fan. This may very well be the last original Megaman title if things stay as they are at Capcom.

This game deserves solid five out of five and I'll tell you why.

Story:The story goes like this Geo Steller the main character has an encounter with a rouge Wizard corrupted by Noise Geo then finds out that he Wizard was corrupted by something called "Noise" and the person behind it a guy named Joker. With the help of the Police force and utilizing Noise Geo must take down Joker.

Music: Is amazing and has a nice variety of songs the overworld and battle are my favorites personally.

Graphics: The 2D sprites are still fluid and the 3D models still look impressive.

Gameplay: The game still works like the Tribe games but with a few differences those new differences are highlighted in the Menu screen and Battle. You still pick battle cards to fight and you still earn stronger battle cards to make your deck stronger.

Presentation: The game combines everything very well and does offer a large amount of small details such as the Hunter VG reacting when near Noise,Popups while using the hunter VG and walking around populated areas, and the ability to alter your battle card deck with out going into the main menu.

Overall I'd recommend this game to fans and any one new to the series it has great gameplay and a story that ties up the loose ends from Starforce 2
