Mega fantastic fan art book, August 16, 2011
This review is from: Mega Man Tribute (Paperback)
Length:: 1:30 Mins
I like the Tribute series from Udon. This one's as good as Street Fighter Tribute and Darkstalkers Tribute.
The book is 304 pages thick. No dust jacket. The paper is thick low gloss type, thicker than Darkstalkers Tribute. Binding is good (thankfully).
Due to the success of earlier Tribute series, there are over 2500 entries submitted for this book but only close to 300 are selected.
The variety is incredible, from vector to manga, to 3D model to actual handmade dolls and paper toys. I like the Tribute series because I enjoy looking at the different interpretation by different artist. In a fan art book like this, there are lots of pleasant surprises, artistic style that are wildly different from official game art.
The quality of art is also very high. All the artists and their website are just below their illustrations which is really convenient if you want to learn more about the artist.
I used to play the game, the earlier series, so this book sure brings back some memories. It features art mainly from the original series, but there are also some art for Mega Man X, Zero, ZX and Legends. The other series probably can have a tribute book on their own.
This is a fantastic art book for fans and art lovers.

Fantastic, December 9, 2011
This review is from: Mega Man Tribute (Paperback)
This book far exceeded my expectations. Mega Man Tribue features a LOT of great artists, a huge variety of styles and many masterful pieces. It's great to see how the artists reinterpreted the theme is so many creative ways- pixel art, plush figures, woodcuts, posters, vector art and many cool digital paintings styles. There's so much eye candy in this book I find myself keep coming back to it for inspiration. The paper is nice and thick and the printing looks great. There is typically 1 image per page, large enough to appreciate the details in each piece. It's not just for fans of Megaman, but for anyone who enjoys great concept art and illustration. I have a large collection of art and design books, this one is one of my all-time favorites.

Fans and UDON Doing what Capcom will not!, January 22, 2012
This review is from: Mega Man Tribute (Paperback)
This is one of the best art books I've seen for a game title! You can feel the hard work and dedication that fans have for the Blue guy in here. I especially like the Legends series art in here, this this might be the last look we will ever see of Legends (since Capcom decided to kill my favorite Megaman series). All the main characters you'd expect to see are here, even Aero (the new chick that never got to appear in a game cuz Capcom killed its production before release).All in all I give the art book 5 stars and Capcom 0. Buy this book!
