From the Back Cover

'Mega Mind: Path to Success and Freedom' is a dynamic and upbeat guide to self- management that will enhance all aspects of life. Author Hemant Thakur, M.D., has drawn on his experiences as a medical doctor and a student of philosophy to create a positive program that allows each of us as individuals to access the energy and resources within us all to fulfill our personal potential. He asks us to first honestly examine ourselves through a series of key questions to determine which areas of our lives need improvement. Am I as healthy as I should be? Is my financial situation adequate to meet my needs and the needs of my family? Do I do all I can to contribute to my community and strengthen my personal relationships? Dr. Thakur speaks to his readers in an enthusiastic and accessible voice as he directs us through the process of setting specific goals and learning how to modify our behaviors to support rather than thwart those goals. Through the discussion of the laws of Karma, Maslow's seven human requirements, the self-empowering ideology of Alcoholic's Anonymous, and the ancient Indian concept that the avoidance of pain and the pursuit of pleasure influence all our choices, Dr. Thakur teaches us how to find the best tools and formulas for success. We learn how a pattern of self-destructive behavior must be altered through positive mental attitudes to diminish stress and invigorate our lives. Mega Mind is a valuable self-help resources that empowers and encourages the reader to find a positive course of action for a better life.

Cali, capital of the Valle del Cauca, had the pleasure of receiving a very distinguished and outstanding guest, a Psychiatrist physician, Dr. Hemant Thakur. The purpose of his visit was to promote his wonderful book 'Mega Mind Path to Success and Freedom' through the Foundation Rancho de Jonás and the School of Excellence; corporations which have been committed for years to invite speakers from other countries to hold seminars for the Colombian community. It is very clear to see how this book can provide us with direction guidelines or alignment for life in the case of any human being without taking into consideration his race, religion or culture, regardless of whether he is a man or a woman, a boy or an elderly. 'A book for every age', for people who have an open mind and who would like to improve their personal lives. Dr. Thakur held valuable seminars in the Auditorium at Rancho de Jonás, in Cali. focused on victims and their families in Colombia, in cases such as the kidnapping of the Avianca plane, the Church La María, as well as military officers kidnapped by the guerrilla. Dr. Thakur taught these people techniques based upon his book, so that they will be able to apply them in their personal lives, and to propose solutions to the problems and possible future events in order to improve the quality of life of these people, as well as analyzing how these facts affect social classes (rich and poor) in this country. Dr. Thakur's performance was so wonderful with honesty and kindness that after and during the event we saw the manifestations of gratitude made by all presents.Read more ›

My friend Clelan Dewey, recently loaned me the book "Mega Mind Path to Success and Freedom." I was immediately impressed with the common sense "Introduction" which points out in great detail, that every individual has the capacity to succeed: if properly prepared. In fact, that proper preparation is the most important factor that leads to success and the preparation must start early in life. Because preparation needs to start at an early age and because many young people do not recieve guidance in logical thinking and because this book goes into such easily understood detail, it occured to me that this book would be an excellent text book for high school students. I firmly beleive that if studied in classroom situation, this book would guide many students to a more rewarding life.

Fantastic, easy to read, self-analytical with multiple analogies- Dr. Thakur has produced a definite winner in the Self-Help category. Change your worst habit(s) effectively and permanently for the first time in your life! It unveils what makes us think to choose what we do and how we can cognitively step back and prepare ourselves before meeting these daily life choices. VERY ENTERTAINING & INSIGHTFUL. I know Dr. Thakur has poured his heart and expertise into this to truly serve his fellow man. He has lectured on these topics, but now he has pulled it all together into one volume that won't let you down. A real bargain price for the many meaningful life lessons he unfolds. He has helped thousands, now it's your easy turn, too!

Mega Mind is the most practical "self help" book I have read. Dr. Hemant Thankur developed the methods while treating the most damaged individuals returning from war; Mega Mind shows a path to satisfaction and happiness that will work for them and those with lesser problems. His method starts with specific goal setting and then using self induced pleasure and pain to force your brain to make choices in life that fulfill those goals. These methods are the same ones used by advertisers to sell us goods, and they work to sell us our own goals, using Dr. Thakur's system. Mega Mind explores how this system works and why but the practical methods are simple, easy to use, and produce results. Less than 2 hours after starting to read Mega Mind I set some goals and began to use his methods. When I made a choice that did not help me fulfill those goals the system showed me how to use those bad choices to change the choices my brain would make the next time. It is a complete and simple way for anyone to change their own behavior.
The book is short, easy to read and follow, and can be used by people of almost any age. I highly recommend it.

This is the best book about PTSD I have ever read. If you know someone who is suffering from a traumatic event, a violent crime, a rape victim, tragic loss of a loved one, witness to a terrible accident, this book is for you.
I cannot say enough praise about this man. If all psychiatrists had his heart, his unwavering faith in mankind, and his old fashioned country doctor style, the science of mental health could take a quantum leap toward the positive.
I don't know if Mahatma Ghandi was considered a genius, or just a man with the right idea at the right time. This is how I see Dr. Thakur's book MEGA MIND The Path to Success and Freedom, his work with PTSD victims; a man with the right idea at the right time, helping war veterans, offering help to all trauma victims.
The fact that this man has dedicated himself to the War Veterans and works himself to nearly to death trying to cure decades of psychological neglect. Well, Let's just say I would take a bullet for this guy anytime.
