I bought this product for my hair use. I do not have bald spots or thinning areas.I bought the product to see if it actually does grow the hair. I received the product on Jan 15th and I used the product the same day. I wanted to wait until I used the product for at least a month before reviewing it. Well here it is April 16th and I am finally reviewing it. To track growth I also took pictures of my hair before using the product and after. I have tried everything under the sun and can pretty much tell you about any product whether it works or not and how to stop some of the side effects you may experience. Megatek does work!!!! I have read all of the reviews good and bad and have seen where some people went wrong using the product. I am going to tell you how I used it and I am also going to tell you some of the things you can do to prevent or stop problems from using this product.

Some of things I have seen people write negative about the product are it leaves their hair sticky,experience shedding, headaches, and it just didnt grow the hair out. First off we have to remember this product is for animals so you would not use it how it would be used on an animal you have to adjust it to your needs. Your hair is sticky because you have to rinse the product out I know the bottle states you can leave it in but you need to rinse the product out and follow up with a moisturizing conditioner. Shedding yes it will cause shedding its a protein product combat shedding with garlic. Whether its garlic pills, powder or Alter Ego garlic conditioner the garlic should stop the shedding. Headaches can come from the product being too potent for you remember it is for animals. To solve this problem dilute the product if you are using it on your scalp. Dilute with what? A carrier oil. i.e. castor, olive,coconut oils. My hair isnt growing. Give the product time hair grows a half an inch a month I saw results 2 weeks after using the product. No my hair didnt magically grow down my back but I experienced new growth quicker look at the small things thicker hair or new growth in week 3 after perm when you normally dont get new growth until week 5. That means its working. I would estimate with proper use in 4 months you will see a tremendous change.

How I used the product to achieve maxium results... I followed a regimen which I did every week. Every friday I washed my hair then I applied Megatek for 15 minutes. I applied it to my scalp and hair and massaged my scalp for 2 minutes and then place a plastic cap on for 15 min. Washed out and then followed up with the Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner(to combat shedding) for 20 mins with plastic cap. Then rinsed that out and did a moisturizing deep condition for 45 mins- 1hr with plastic cap. Final rinse with cold water then blot hair dry and I added a moisturizing leave in conditioner and I applied my oil mixture to my scalp.
My oil mixture is in a color applicator bottle in it is jamaician black castor oil, 10 drops of peppermint oil, 10 drops of rosemary oil and megatek. I only apply this to my scalp. Also to retain length everyday I apply moisturizer to my ends and seal with oil. This is called moisturizing and sealing. My choice of moisturizers are Wave Noveau, Olive Oil Mositurzing lotion and Silken Child. My choice of oil are castor coconut and olive. Basically retaining length would be seeing your hair get longer. You know your hair is growing because if it wasnt, there wouldnt be a need to relax new growth. But when you finish washing out the relaxer and comb your hair out all happy cause them edges laying your hair is the same length. :-/ you didnt retain length your scalp produces natural oils so of course that part will grow but your ends are the oldest part of your hair they need moisture without it they will break and thats why when you comb your hair you have broken pieces on your shirt. Moisturize and seal your ends daily and in 4 months I feel you will see a change. I tried to answer everything I would want to know if looking at this product if you have any questions or comments feel free to ask or state and I will try my best to help all. I did receive my product within the timeframe given it is a huge bottle(160z) should last a good 5 to 7 months and it smells like coconut.

i've had trouble with my temple area since I went on antibiotics 3-4 years ago. I've tried several different products (internal and external) and Mega Tek is the only product that has given me results. I've only been using it for 2 weeks and I'm already seeing new growth (seriously, 2 weeks). I never write reviews for products but I really believe that Mega Tek is worth it. I don't wash with it, I massage the product directly to my temples, once in the morning and once at night, I don't wash it out. Whenever I put it in my husband always compliments me on how nice my hair smells :)

I noticed increased thickness in my hair within 2 weeks of useage. It does cause a small amount of shedding the 1st few times I used it. Just make sure to condition and moisterize your hair daily. I'm african american, and I had great results.

This is wonderful as a protein treatment and growth aid. I only apply this once per week. I wash my hair then apply a generous amount of Mega Tek, put a shower cap over it and sit under a portable bonnet type hair dryer for about 8 minutes or so. I then wash it out and condition. My highlighted hair is like silk afterwards. There has been considerable new growth along my hairline since using this. I also rub it onto my fingernails. [...]. The reviews on the hairdryer are not great but it works really well for me. I only use it for conditioning or protein treatments.

I have always had long hair until recently. My hair would get a certain length and would not grow anymore. I have tried sooooo many hair products, my cabinet is so full of things that have not worked or made my hair brake off. i read about this stuff and when i was a child my mom used to buy mane n tail products. So I thought maybe thats why my hair was so long then, so i decided to give it a try. I had been using alphogee products, the whole line, for about three months and taking photos of the progress. guess what my hair didn't grow at all, no change what-so-ever. I have now been using mega tek now for 3 months and I have had 3 inches of growth. My hair had fell out on the edges over my left temple and guess what I have 3 inched of new growth there also. I would and have recommended this product to all of my family and friends. I have taken pictures and shown them the progress and they all are very impressed and want the product also. And a bonus, I never had nice strong nails until now. My nails grow fast and they are strong when they grow now. People think I have fake nails when they see my hands, that's how nice my nailis are after they have been polished. Thank you MEGA TEK.

I use this on my hair as a growth aid and it has really worked to fill in my hairline that has been absent for years from braids.

I've been loosing a lot of hair everytime I brush or shampoo and decided to look for a product that could help minimize my hair loss. This product works great. I apply about a dime size of this conditioner on my scalp, focussing on the thinning areas after I get out of the shower then blow dry as usual. Recently, my hair stylist commented that my hair seems thicker. This product does help to minimize my hair loss. In addition, it seems like I have a lot more hair regrowth after a month's use. Hope this review helps you with your product selection.

I read about this product on another site. As an African American woman with relaxed hair; dryness is of particular concern and this product didn't disappoint me. Others tout is as a growth aid which is what I purchased it for. I've managed to obtain some growth but what I didn't expect was the softness. My two daughters' hair, age 17(relaxed) and 8 (natural) seem to thrive on it. A little does indeed go a long way. Definitely a staple in my bevy of hair care products.

I started using Mega-Tek Rebuilder about 21 days ago. My husband and I went out for brunch and when we returned he said, "That is your real hair isn't it?" because I wear wigs sometimes. He said "I wasn't sure because it looks thicker and longer too". I said good that's what I was hoping for.
I have hypothyroidism so it is difficult to keep growing my hair because it usually breaks off and now it is thickening up and growing in such a short time. I am hoping it will continue.

This made my hair GROW three inches in about four months.
It made my hair thicker, i love it. I only wish my boyfriend would stop using it on our dogs.
Not a cheap shampoo but very well worth the money!
